Do you love the color black? I lot of people do, and they may want to decorate their bedrooms with black furniture. However, it can be a tough task to accomplish because of how dark the color is, and they may not want to make their bedroom seem like a dark dungeon. Is this how you feel? If so, there’s no need to worry. We scoured the internet for some of the most unique and simple ways to decorate your bedroom with black furniture. Here are 29 types of bedroom decor with black furniture as accent pieces. We promise- you won’t be disappointed!
#1. Plenty of Storage
This room features plenty of storage, which is common in more contemporary bedrooms. I love the way that this whole bedroom looks with the black furniture. This would be ideal for a teenager or somebody else who needs more storage space than they know what to do with. The bed is a beautiful Sonoma storage bed with dressers built in the bottom. Each nightstand has a nice lamp on it, creating optimal lighting for reading in bed. The rest of the room is an off-white color with gorgeous light-colored hardwood flooring.
#2. Unique Bed Posts
Here we have another modernized bedroom in terms of coloring. The bed is ‘super’ unique because of those posts. I don’t honestly think I’ve ever seen a bed frame like that. The other neat thing about the room is that red chair that’s placed by the bed. This little sitting area is perfect for a small room. At the end of the bed is a bench. This a great spot to sit and take off your shoes at the end of a long day. As for the coloring, it’s pretty neutral which allows you to place any color furniture in the room as you would like.
#3. Modern Black
I love the look of this room. Everything about it is very modernized. The dresser and nightstand are very similar to old-fashioned luggage. The colors on the furniture match the colors on the modernized bed frame. One of my favorite features of this room are the paintings above the wall. They are old black and white photos that add a touch of vintage to the atmosphere. To finish up the room is a plain eggshell color wall with a light hardwood floor to increase the natural lighting.
#4. Black Elegance
This is one of those furniture sets that you could use in any style bedroom. The bed is a beautiful sleigh style with a cream-colored bedspread on it. There is plenty of storage for both of the dressers plus the nightstand. The unique thing about this space is that the floor looks it’s made out of brown cement. This brings a touch of modernism to the area. I love the little area rug at the end of the bed that brings all of the colors of the room into one item.
#5. Rustic Bedroom
If you love the rustic look of things, this is one room that you’re going to appreciate. This particular style features a more traditional bed frame with the short posts that have a swirly design. Most of the furniture is black with gold accents on them, except for the trunk at the end of the bed. This is the perfect storage for extra blankets and pillows. The rest of the room is pretty standard. The walls are a cream color, and the floor is a gorgeous brown hardwood that allows the light to reflect off of it naturally.
#6. Very Square
When I say square, I’m talking in terms of the furniture. This furniture is very sharp and squared off. It is very similar to one that we saw earlier, except for the shape. The room features very neutral colors such as cream and light brown, allowing the furnishings to correspond well with each other. There is plenty of storage space with all of those spacious dressers around the room.
#7. Headboard Storage
I admire headboards with storage. It makes it easy to reach all of my essentials for bedtime such as lotions, the remote, and other necessities. This is a very simple headboard with a regular mattress attached to it. The coloring on the bed is a beautiful white color with gold pillows. The walls are white, and the floor is light brown. This hardwood floor allows natural light to reflect off of it, creating more light around the room.
The furnishings throughout this room are very shiny and mirrored. Mirrored furnishings make the room appear larger than they really are. So, if you have a small room, I highly recommend this design. The room is a beautifully lit area with some unique furnishings. Each one of the pieces has some kind of mirror on them. The woven design is also pretty awesome. This room is beautifully put together.
#9. Grey and Black
This bedroom set is ideal for any size room. The bed has a very low profile and fits in well with the color scheme of the whole room. There is a beautiful black dresser, armoire, and footstool. The stool stands alone in the center of the room, which is kind of mysterious. I really like the aesthetic appeal that the entire space has. The grey carpeting mixes well with the color of the walls, too.
#10. Quaint Room
This is another contemporary room that is on the list. This bedroom set is a beautiful black color with nickel knobs and accents. The bed is a simple platform-style bed that sits off the ground on a low profile. There’s a beautiful nightstand with a silver lamp on it to create lighting around the bed area. The rest of the room is set in a grey and white color, which allows the sunlight to bounce off of it, creating natural lighting.
#11. Black & Silver
This is a very dark room but with some bright white accents. The bed has a button tufted and upholstered style to it, along with the nailhead design around it. Next to the bed are two beautiful nightstands with beautiful silver drawer pulls. On top of each one of them is a gorgeous clear lamp with white shades, perfect for adding light to the room. The carpet is rather unique. It is a shade of purple, which breaks up the two colors and gives the room a little pop of color.
The patterns in this room really bring it together. There are circular patterns in the black mirrored nightstands and square patterns on the throw blanket at the end of the bed. The pillows also have patterns on them. The headboard is black with a silver border that matches wonderfully with the crystal lamps with black shades. There are also some very elegant paintings above the bed of various flowers which are very nice.
This luxurious condo bedroom has a unique bedroom set. The headboard looks to be connected to the nightstands on the side of the bed, taking up most of the wall. There is a cure dresser off to the side with a candle on top of it. At the foot of the bed is a small sofa and a tiny black table, perfect for relaxing before bed. The rest of the room is white with brown hardwood flooring and a grey area rug. Overall, it’s a gorgeous room with a lot of space.
If you didn’t already notice, the theme of the room revolves around the beach and ocean. Above that massive four post bed are three wall hangings dedicated to various sea creatures and shells. The bed is set in a beautiful black color and on top of it are blue, white, and tan pillows. The surrounding walls are a sea blue color with a decorative plant in the corner. I love this room and everything in it! It takes “beach” to a whole new level.
This room features many button tufted pieces of furniture. Button tufting is essentially taking pieces of fabric and adding a button to certain spots to create a diamond shape within the fabric. It’s a pretty cool technique. The room is a light grey color that accentuates the color of the furnishings. Off to the side is a beautiful distressed dresser that gives the room a very vintage feel to it.
#16. French Inspired
If you enjoy French-inspired things, you are really going to like the furnishings in this room. The furnishings have a very vintage look to them. They are all painted with a black finish and feature curved legs other than the iron bed. The room itself is very dark, almost as if it is in the Gothic period of time. There is a lone chandelier in the center of the room that creates some lighting. The window behind the vanity does a good job of bringing in natural lighting into the area.
#17. Extremely Dark
Do you enjoy dark spaces? If so, then you are going to go bonkers for this room design. This room kind of fits into the Gothic era. The whole room is dark, and the wallpaper on the walls have intricate patterns. There are shiny purple window treatments that add a touch of color to the area. The bed is a classic four post frame with circular designs carved out. The flooring is a dark brown color, but it allows light from the windows to bounce off of it.
#18. Country Victorian
When you mix the country and Victorian-era furniture, you get a gorgeous bedroom. The black canopy bed has unique carvings in the wood that match the feet of the nightstands. The room has a brick pattern on the walls set in a brown color. The floors are a grey color, which compliments the walls and furniture beautifully. I enjoy the overall design of this minimal bedroom.
#19. Unique Headboard
There’s no doubt that the style of this headboard is the focal point of the whole room. It has a Victorian look to it and features designs and curved lines on it. It is set in black color as is the nightstand next to the bed. Since the furniture is so dark, they decided to make sure their walls were a bright white color. There is definitely a good balance of colors here.
#20. A Beautiful Setup
This room has quite a different setup. Rather than the bench being at the end of the bed like most of them are, this one is between the two dressers. These dressers have a natural wood look to them with a black stain on it. In the center of the wall, there is a huge circular mirror. I can only assume that on the other side of the room, you can see the entire area through that one mirror.
#21. Contemporary Living
This contemporary bedroom has a lot of black furniture in it. You would think that it would darken up space, however, there is a light colored floor and large windows to bring in natural lighting. This room features a very large sitting area, which has a couch and a coffee table in front of it. The walls are painted black, but all of the neutral colors work with each other fantastically.
#22. Dark & Artistic
There’s a lot about this room that’s artistic. There are quite a few vases and sculptures on the shelving unit next to the bed. There are also a ton of paintings above the bed, which are all unique in their own way. The furniture is black leather that matches the black walls. The lampshades are a vintage color and style, and it helps to brighten up the whole room. There isn’t much natural lighting that can come in, but the room is still pretty awesome.
#23. Black and White
This is probably one of my favorite color combinations. There’s something about black and white that really makes me think vintage-don’t ask why because I have no idea. This room features a black and white area rug along with a black and white nightstand. There is a mirror behind the lamp as to make the room appear larger than it really is. Is it me or does that chair look super comfortable?
#24. Black & Purple
Black and purple used to be one of my favorite color combinations when I was a kid. This probably would have been my dream room. The bed is a gorgeous French inspired piece with beautiful designs. Under the bed is a funky shag rug that matches the color of the nightstand. The curtains are black and so is the wall. The only things breaking up the colors are the gold accents on the nightstand, gold lampshade, and the purple rug.
#25. All Black
This room is completely black, except for the flooring, which is a tan color. The walls are painted a matte black with a lone lamp attached to it. This is the ideal room for those who really like the color black or who want to be in the dark. The bed has a beautiful silk blanket on top of it and next to it is a very simple nightstand that looks like a repurposed ladder. Overall, a very dark space with minimal lighting.
#26. Double Color
Do you remember Cruella De Vil? This room completely reminds me of her! Those chairs, how cool are they? They are black and white, just like her hair was. They match the bed, which has a white comforter and a black throw. Each nightstand has a black and gold lamp on it for optimal reading light. One of my favorite parts of the room is the chandelier in the center. It brings a lot of elegance to the area and supplies lighting to the whole room.
#27. A Big Bed
Well, I think that it’s safe to say that the main focal point of this room would be that massive black leather bed. It’s gorgeous! This contemporary master bedroom is simple and minimalistic. All that we can see from the picture is the desk with two black chairs and the big curved bed with just a white sheet and few pillows on it. There is plenty of lighting throughout the room which bounces off of that bright white wall paint.
#28. Modern Master Bedroom
This room is very similar to a few that we have seen so far. However, those dressers are rather unique. They are a shiny black color with line designs on them. The bed is also the same color with the same design. I love how it mixes with that grey coloring on the wall. At the end of the bed is a brown area rug that breaks up the color scheme a little bit. Overall, it’s a nice room with a modern twist on it.
#29. Black & Gold
Oh, how stunning is this bedroom?! I absolutely love the black and gold designs. It gives it a super elegant appeal. The bed looks to be a velvet black tufted design. On top of the bed are some pretty fancy black and gold blankets and pillows. Off to the side are a string of lights, which honestly, brings life to the whole room. You can see that there is some natural lighting coming in from a window to help lighten up the room and break up the darkness.
There you have it! Those are 29 of the most spectacular and unique bedroom colors with dark furniture. Whether the walls are black or the furnishings are black, there’s something for every lover of the color.
