Yes but the mattress Tempur-pedic 2009 lasted five years 2014 they replaced it with a Tempur-pedic contour elite now I’m ready to throw this one out the door because it’s absolutely horrible feels like you’re laying on the side of a hill so they only last maybe four years tops I would not recommend this mattress at all

Yes I first purchased a Tempur-pedic bed that lasted a few years and they had to replace it with a Tempur-pedic contour elite mattress this mattress is absolutely horrible wake up with back pains feels like you’re rolling down a hill it gets rotated every couple weeks still the same problem big hump in the middle The first few years was OK but now it’s lost its form I would not recommend this mattress at all

Hi Frank,
I’m thinking of buying the Contour Elite or Rhapsody Luxe. I read both your reviews. I’m 6’5″ weight about 285lbs and my wife is about 5’8″ 160lbs. She has a bad back and mine is not so good at times either so we definitely need a firmer type of mattress. My biggest concern is my weight over time on the mattress and if it will stay compressed. Any feedback if either of these models would be good choice for us?
Thanks

I think they could both be a good fit for you. In terms of durability, you do get what you pay for. The Contour Elite is slightly cheaper, but this could come at the cost of earlier development of sagging and indents.
Both of these are high-quality products. I think, in terms of durability, you should go with the Rhapsody Luxe.

I notice the specs of the contour elite are slightly different then the breeze. How much difference in feel would there be? Does the breeze make it so much cooler it’s worth the extra money?

The base foam of 2.0lbs in addition to the 4, 5 lb and 7 lb foams in the comfort layers are far better then any bed in a box.

Hi Frank
After sleeping on coil springs beds most of our lives now up in age 49, 50 we just bought this new Tempur-pedic contour elite model….big investment 2nd night on it, still not sure…. I think it might be to firm for us….me and the wife are side sleepers usually starting on our backs then to the side…I weight 220lbs, wife 150lbs….I’m glad we have 30 days to sleep on it but I know it will take time to adjust but not sure if I can hold out that long, still not sure if this will be the end result…. thanks for the website.

Hey Rob,
It should have been a 90 night trial if you bought direct from Tempurpedic. Regardless it does take some time for a mattress to break in, so it should soften up a bit but just make sure you are satisfied before your trial is up.

I weigh 142 to 150 pounds depending Am I considered a light weight sleeper?. I sleep on my side some but mostly on my stomach. we r looking at a contour elite temperpedic next to highest firm. Also, I am concerned about being too cold when I move or change positions in the winter. is this ever a problem? I have a bad knee and leg aches and pains

Hey Janet,
At your weight Tempurpedic would have no problem lasting you a very long time. They use very high density foams in their mattresses. You shouldn’t sleep too cool either with memory foam.
