One of the largest obstacles between sleepers and the rest they need is temperature. Your body temperature needs to drop just a little bit as you enter into deep stages of sleep. If your mattress retains body heat, this means you’re marinating in your body heat and making it difficult to help your body attain this cooler temperature.

Breathability With Phase Change Material
When you order the Cocoon Chill mattress, you have the choice between their soft layer for a cozier, more “in-the-bed” feel and their sturdier firm layer which gives you that “on-the-bed” feel. I prefer my mattress more on the plush end, so I’ll be trying out the softer comfort layer. This layer is located between the perfect-fit memory foam layer and support layer. Having slept on this mattress for a couple of nights now, I think the memory foam placement offers a combined unit that’s really easy for your body to conform with.
What I’m most excited about is the premium fabric cover. It’s infused with phase change material that absorbs and dissipates heat, and this not only allows breathability but can also make the mattress cool to the touch. Firmness
If you choose the firm option, this information won’t apply, but the plusher option feels to be around a medium firm. When you first lay down, it feels a little firmer. However, you can feel as your body heats up the memory foam beneath as it begins to conform with your body. It doesn’t envelop you to the point where you feel like you’re sinking in, though, so it already seems that the layer placement does a good job at balancing comfort and support
Bounce and Responsiveness
As far as bounce goes, Cocoon performs about the way you’d expect a memory foam mattress to. We’ll show you on our full review how quickly a 20 pound medicine ball comes to a rest when dropped on the mattress. However, it’s not difficult to get in and out of bed. The memory foam also acts to reduce motion transfer. My daughter climbed into bed with me last night, and it wasn’t disruptive at all.

I haven’t had my Cocoon very long, so I’ll definitely be taking much more time sleeping on and analyzing this product. So far, I’ve found that I seem to be sleeping a little more cool on this product, so I’m interested to see how well Cocoon Chill performs using my thermal imaging camera. Make sure you stay tuned.
