Has the time come to buy a new mattress? You certainly have no shortage of options, and today we’re going to be opening up the New Layla Mattress that just arrived at my doorstep earlier this morning.
One of the most important elements of any mattress is its ability to sleep cool. When you sleep too hot, you are unable to enter the REM stages of sleep, and it’s at this point where the deepest restoration occurs within your body. In fact, your body temperature actually has to drop just slightly to enjoy the best sleep.
While most products I’ve tried out have made efforts to help you sleep cool, it’s not often that I find one that places a focus on this aspect, layer after layer. It also features special accommodations to cater to the individual, making the New Layla Mattress one that should work well with a broad range of needs and preferences.
Cooling: A Multi-Faceted Approach
So, just how does the New Layla Mattress keep you sleeping cool as a cucumber? Let’s count the ways:
- The cover is made of thermogel that’s designed to react to body heat and keep the skin temperature low.
- Both the top and bottom layers are infused with copper, which is well-known for rapid heat transfer
- Convoluted foam placed in the middle is naturally-designed to promote air flow
Special Accommodation for Firmness Flexibility
One of the biggest challenges in online mattress shopping is finding the right firmness level. Since you aren’t able to lay on it before you buy, it’s very important you have a good idea of what to expect. I love that the New Layla Mattress takes a lot of the mystery out of the process.
Since both the top and bottom layers are comprised of the same, comfort-compatible memory foam, you can flip it to experience a different firmness level on each side.
Since the cover comes off, just place it on according to the side that fits your preferences. I usually have trouble finding something plush enough, and I’m already loving the soft side of the New Layla Mattress.
New Layla Mattress Overview
The plush side of this product would fall at around a 4/10. It’s rare that I come across a product with a firmness this plush, and this can be a great option for people with a BMI below 19. On the other hand, if you have a BMI of 25 or higher, I think the firm side will be accommodating, and I’d rate it around a 7/10.
During our full review, we’ll break this product down layer-by-layer and look at the indentation load deflection of each to give you a better idea of what to expect.
• Bounce and Responsiveness
All-foam products, especially those containing memory foam, have a tendency to lack when it comes to bounce and responsiveness. This can make it hard to move around. However, this product resumes its shape pretty quickly when you release pressure, and it’s clear we’re not dealing with traditional memory foam. However, it definitely does have the contouring effect this material is known for.
I really love the effect, but some don’t. Make sure you stick around for our full review. We’ll break down each of these factors and more in far more detail.
