Delivery- What to Expect

I ordered the Yaasa queen-sized base, and it showed up in two boxes. Yaasa offers a very helpful video that shows you how to set everything up. I found it very useful, but they do say it’s lightweight, and the man in the video seamlessly lifts the box like it weighs ten pounds. It also makes it look like everything comes in one box.

While the product is lightweight for an adjustable base, it’s still pretty heavy. Weights are as follows:

Adjustable Bed Size Dimension Weight
Twin XL 79.25” x 37.25” x 15” 140 lbs.
Queen 79.25” x 58” x 15” 176 lbs.
King 79.25” x 74.5” x 15” 198 lbs.
Split King 79.25” x 74.5” x 15” 140 lbs. per base
280 lbs. Combined

Point being, you may want to have someone available to help you carry your base inside when you know it’s about time for arrival.

The great news is that, once you get it inside, it’s very easy to put together. Let’s walk through the process.

Quick Walk Through Assembly Process

1. Take an inventory of all parts and tools included in the two boxes your frame arrives in. These include:

  • Left side rail
  • Right side rail
  • 2 crossbars
  • 4 legs
  • Power converter
  • Power cable
  • Side to side cable
  • 2 USB modules
  • 2 type A corner connector covers
  • 2 type B corner connector covers
  • Manual
  • Platform head
  • Platform base
  • Platform leg
  • Platform foot
  • 18 mounting screws
  • Tool used to tighten connector wheel
  • Assembly support
  • Remote control
  • AAA batteries
  • Quick start guide

2. Slide both side rails into the crossbars.

3. Slide corners together by aligning the bracket on the side rail with the groove on the crossbar.

4. Press the two parts and crossbar down until both are flush and the crossbar contacts the brackets of the side rail.

5. Using supplied tool, turn the wheel clockwise. There is an arrow indicating the right direction to avoid confusion.

6. Rest frame on provided assembly support and secure legs with the appropriate screws. Only one screw is needed per leg.

7. Repeat step six for opposite end of frame.

8. Click corner covers into place.

9. Connect the two side rails with the side to side cable by plugging it into the appropriate connector.

10. Connect one USB module on each side using the black two pin connector.

11. Connect the power converter to the corresponding connector.

12. Run the USB cable through the designated channel, and place the two USB cables through the designated channel. The cables should be placed outside the frame.

13. Place the four platform components in their appropriate spots on the frame. They will align with the threaded holes on the side rails.

14. Use the 14 mounting screws to secure the platform pieces. No tools are necessary.

15. Place the two USB modules in their position by clicking them in place on the pre-installed mounting plates under the base.

16. Connect power cable to power converter, and run cable to nearest outlet.

Once the frame is put together, just put your batteries in the remote. There is no need to sync it up. It should work immediately.

Construction – Minimalist Design

We mentioned that this frame is lightweight for an adjustable base, and this is largely due to its aluminum construction. This makes it easy to move without sacrificing on durability.

This product was made with ergonomics in mind. I enjoy the contemporary style, and the matte finish gives it some shine. You’ll notice the base features a clean look, and this is because the technology is well-hidden. This provides a clean aesthetic while still delivering some of the coolest, most high-tech features.

A Look at the Features

If you’re happy with the way the Yaasa adjustable base looks, let’s delve into what you can expect it to deliver in terms of features.

Zero Gravity and Pressure Relief

One of the presets you get to enjoy on your remote control is the Zero Gravity setting. This setting slightly elevates your head and feet, and this specifically helps if you suffer with painful pressure points or poor circulation.

By elevating the areas of the body that are sore, you’re better able to relax them. I found the zero gravity setting to do a great job at helping me get relaxed after running my last 10K.

Since the thighs and lower legs are elevated above the heart, pressure is removed from the spine and joints. It also takes strain off the heart, thus making it easier to circulate blood. If you suffer with swelling in the legs and/or feet, this feature can help with your symptoms as well.

Just a few other benefits to be taken advantage of using the zero gravity preset include:

  • Decreased lower back pain through more even weight distribution
  • Alleviation of the symptoms of acid reflux
  • Accommodating for reading or watching t.v.

Anti-Snoring Preset

If you have a sleep partner who snores or suffer yourself with this troublesome and all-too-common issue, Yaasa has a preset just for you. The anti-snoring preset elevates the head slightly to open up the airway.

I have the queen model. However, if you choose the split king, sleep partners can make setting adjustments independent of one another. If your sleep partner begins snoring, you can move their side to make the snoring stop. The movement is seamless. In my experience, it doesn’t wake you up. This position can also help relieve indigestion.

If you have significant issues with snoring, we had a lot of success combining use of the Yaasa with various anti-snoring devices.

Wall Sliding Technology

Adjustable bases move. That’s not exactly a big surprise. However, what often throws consumers off once they receive their base is the fact that, once they start making adjustments, they may no longer be able to reach the nightstand or their phone charger.

Yaasa took this into consideration, and that’s why they incorporated the use of wall sliding technology. It ensures that any adjustment made keeps the space between your wall and the bed constant.

Other features I found really helpful include:

  • USB chargers located on both sides of the base to charge your mobile device, laptop, etc.
  • Wireless remote with light adjusting LED Backlight
  • Ample storage space under the bed
  • Minimalist design means you’re not overwhelmed with cords that get in the way
  • One-touch flat sleep button on remote allows you to return mattress to a flat position without having to hold down on buttons and wear out your batteries
  • Surface is easy to clean and doesn’t contain fabrics that can easily stain
  • Ability to set two of your favorite positions
  • Child lock feature on remote for safety

New Split King Option

Yaasa recently made a new size option available. The spit king option allows sleep partners the ability to more easily personalize. This is because it’s comprised of two twin XL frames placed side by side, which is equivalent in size to a king. This allows each sleep partner to enjoy their own preferred positioning. If you want them to work together, there is a sync mode you can use:

Activate Sync Mode

  • Hold Sync button on both remotes simultaneously for three seconds. The Sync Indicator will blink for five seconds as it activates.

Deactivate Sync Mode

  • Press the Sync button on one remote for three seconds. The Sync Indicator will blink for five seconds as deactivation initiates.

There should remain a gap of a half inch between the wooden platforms of the two sections of the split king adjustable base by Yaasa.

Final Verdict: Is the Yaasa Adjustable Base for You?

I really enjoyed my Yaasa adjustable base, and I think it’s the perfect solution for sleep partners who want to enjoy the benefits of these products without having to compromise. It’s also excellent for people suffering with pressure points or who snore. Although the product was pretty heavy, it’s not too difficult to manage when you have someone to help you put it together.

If you suspect assembly may be an issue, white glove delivery is available. I also liked that there is financing available through Affirm. The Yaasa bed frame can fit into most existing bed frames, and it’s operable without the legs if this is something you need.

This product is capable of holding up to 700 pounds, and it can accommodate most modern mattresses. Make sure you check to ensure your mattress is compatible. If it’s not, you can always consider the supplemental purchase of the Yaasa mattress.
