Tomorrow Mattress Unboxing
Buying a new mattress is a process. Unlike a new toaster, you don’t want to just buy something that looks nice without understanding what it’s going to offer. After all, you spend approximately ⅓ of your life sleeping. A new mattress can significantly impact your life in a positive or negative way depending on what you choose.
If you feel like you’re lacking in contouring support but have shied away from memory foam because it sinks in too much for your liking, Tomorrow may have a combination that’ll work. Using a clever combination of visco foams in the first three-inch comfort layer, they threw a pocketed coil unit in the mix to recover bounce and responsiveness.
Cool Sleep with Phase Change Material
Tomorrow uses Phase Change Material in the top layer. It’s designed to store and release large amounts of energy. The ability of the top comfort layer to sleep cool is critical, so I’m excited to see how this product performs thermally. Other strategies to help you sleep cool on this mattress that we’ll be looking at in our full review include:
- Airy comfort foam layer with gel
- Pocketed coil system that naturally allows for good breathability
- Perforated outer-edge that allows heat to escape through all sides
Tomorrow Mattress Overview
You’ll have two firmness options when you order. This allows you to incorporate your own needs and preferences into how your mattress will feel. You’ll pick between:
- Medium Firm
- Not too soft, not too firm
- Good for sleepers over 150 pounds
- Medium Soft
- Great for sleepers who like a softer feel
- Good for people who don’t carry a lot of weight
Responsiveness and Bounce
Traditional memory foam was a big craze in the early to mid-90’s, and I remember the commercials showing how impressive it was that you could jump on the mattress without spilling a glass of red wine. One of the main hangups, however, was the fact that the mattresses lacked bounce. In fact, sleepers often reported feeling enveloped and restricted in their movements.
I can already tell the use of the pocketed coils takes the concept of memory foam to a new level. I get the contouring comfort where I need it, and the three-inch visco comfort layer seems properly proportioned with the coils as the response is pretty quick.
