Linenspa Waterproof Mattress Protector Review

You may be interested in: Best Lightweight Down Alternative Comforters

A remarkably cheap yet thoroughly dependable mattress protector for anyone who isn’t very particular about a slightly plastic surface feel to their bed. This thin protector excels at keeping fluids from seeping into your mattress, while also offering a degree of hypoallergenic protection.

Because of its slightly sheet-like form factor, it may not appeal to those in need of a premium quality protector for their luxury mattress but it definitely goes well in guest bedrooms – especially when you’re expecting young children.

The product doesn’t retain too much heat, fits well on mattresses up to 18” deep with its wide pockets, and comes with a 10 year warranty, impressive features for its price tag. Definitely worth considering if you want a no-nonsense protector that gets the job done.

Linenspa Mattress Encasement Review

Linenspa has an entire range of mattress encasements, but we found this inexpensive waterproof and hypoallergenic offering to be quite adequate. Available for all standard mattress sizes, and with a pocket depth ranging from 6 to 12 inches, it comes with the benefits of a mattress protector, and then some.

For starters, it has a polyester surface backed by a polyurethane layer – the polyester ensures that you don’t have to deal with the wrinkly feel of a thin protector (which we noted in our Linenspa mattress protector review), while the polyurethane keeps the water out.

While the comfort and utility aspects of this mattress are on point, you should note that it will raise the temperature of your bed a bit. Other than that, it is easy to wash, and comes with a 10 year warranty to back its materials and workmanship.

Lucid by Linenspa 2-Inch Ventilated Topper Review

If you skimped on your bed’s mattress (or own an expensive one that is past its prime), a mattress topper can be a quick fix to extend the life of your bed before you have to spend big on another mattress. The Lucid Linenspa mattress topper with its 2-Inch thick memory foam layer is a strong case in point.

The open cell structure ensures conforming support that won’t just boost a saggy mattress’s comfort and pressure relief, but also enhance its heat dissipation. Furthermore, it will last longer than closed cell memory foam by allaying the formation of bodily impressions – a crucial feature for heavier individuals.

The memory foam used in this product has a unique antimicrobial formula that makes it resistant to bacteria, mold, allergens and dust mites. Furthermore, it comes with a CertiPUR certification that attests to its environment friendliness.

There have been a few complaints of a strange odor, as well as loss of structure with extended use, but the former is to be expected from memory foam, where the latter can be handled with its 3 year warranty.

Lucid 2-inch Gel Infused Ventilated Memory Foam Mattress Topper Review

The regular 2-Inch mattress topper from Lucid, in spite of its open cell structure, may lead to some heat retention in warmer climates – but fear not, for Lucid has created a gel infused model that packs the benefits of regular memory foam and combines them with superior thermal dissipation.

Just like the other topper, it also excels in conforming support, and comes with a CertiPUR rating indicating that it is made from environmentally safe materials – it doesn’t even use any synthetic compounds to keep off allergens and the like: it is inherently anti-microbial.

The product does give off an odor for a couple days just like any other memory foam topper, and there are scattered complaints of deformation among consumers, but those can be dealt with thanks to a straightforward 3 year warranty.

Lucid 12-Inch Memory Foam Mattress Review

Memory foam mattresses are considered somewhat of a luxury these days, so find an affordable one that genuinely provides the personalized support and comfort which memory foam is known for is a pleasant surprise. This is exactly the case with this reasonably priced offering in Linenspa’s Lucid lineup.

Incorporating a multi-layered memory foam structure on top (3” gel infused memory foam + 1” bamboo charcoal memory foam), that is backed by an 8” layer of high density polyfoam, this mattress manages to impress with its arguably firm, but highly supportive performance which ensures healthy alignment of the spine and shoulders.

The firmness does make it a bit unsuitable for some individuals, but that’s an entirely subjective aspect that can apply to any mattress. The mattress is durably built, comes with a CertiPUR certification, and an extensive 25 year limited warranty. Combine this with the generally favorable Lucid Linenspa mattress reviews that I’ve seen, and it all points to a product that offers excellent value for the money.

Lucid Waterproof Mattress Protector Review

This cheap mattress protector uses a cotton terry surface backed by waterproof polyurethane to provide superb sleeping comfort in conjunction with the necessary protection against fluid spills.
While most protectors generally exhibit a slightly wrinkly, noisy surface feel because of the synthetic materials they incorporate, the cotton terry surface of this product does away with any such issues. In terms of protection against sweat, urine and the like, this mattress is thoroughly dependable, evidenced by both our in-house tests, and user feedback.

The elasticized deep pockets allow this protector to fit mattresses up to 22 inches deep, and the ultra-thin form factor makes it unobtrusive and breathable. While it still isn’t the best in terms of thermal dissipation, it is better than many of its competitors.

There aren’t even any complaints about odors, and only extremely scant complaints about durability, for this product – quite impressive considering its cost. It comes with a pretty generous 15 year warranty, as well as a 120 day return policy, which indicates a lot of confidence from the manufacturer themselves.

Lucid Encasement Mattress Protector Review

You’ll find a reliable, affordable and comfortable mattress protector in the Lucid Encasement Mattress Protector sold by Linenspa. With a surface layer made of polyester to provide unobtrusive comfort, and a polyurethane layer underneath to guarantee to waterproof, this encasement may seem pretty much standard fare at first sight.

There’s more to it though: it is completely hypoallergenic, fits any mattress with a depth ranging from 6 to 18 inches reasonably well, and comes with a 15 year limited warranty. Even though there have been a few complaints related to defective workmanship, these are easily addressable with the warranty at hand.

Aside from the fact that it tends to get a bit hot overnight, this is one mattress encasement that delivers in terms of essential fluid and odor isolation, and for the most part, does its job without making you experience that ‘wrinkly’ feel associated with budget encasements in general.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does LinenSpa mattress protector last?

LinenSpa products are backed by extensive warranties and they have some of the best customer support in the industry – which is always a mark of a trustworthy manufacturer. Even though your LinenSpa mattress protector is taking care of your mattress, it too needs to be taken care of. Be sure to wash the protector regularly in cold water with a gentle detergent. Do not put in the dryer or take to the dry cleaner. If you take care of the product it should last past the warranty which is an extremely generous 15 years.

How often should I wash my mattress protector?

Mattress protectors are the shield between you and your mattress. This way the mattress protector bears the burden of the wear and tear keeping your mattress far from damage. That means that the mattress protector will be absorbing your body sweat, dust mites, animal dander, and stains. Using one can extend your mattresses live by almost 10 years but the protector also needs to be maintained. You should clean the mattress protector regularly. It is recommended that you wash it every other month. However, if you have allergies or pets you will want to wash it more frequently. Remember that mattress encasements are similar to protectors but they provide more protection as mattress encasements are zippered and cover the entire mattress providing 360 degree coverage. Because the encasement wraps all around your mattress it does make it a little more difficult to remove and get into the laundry. When it is time to wash your cover just pop it into the washing machine on cool or warm water and use a mild detergent. Let the cover air dry in the sun. Do not dry clean your mattress cover.

What kind of materials are mattress protectors made of?

A simple cotton mattress protector is quilted, lightweight and machine washable. Cotton is a breathable fabric and will help the mattress stay cool for hot sleepers. Add in latex, wool or moisture-wicking and temperature regulating fabrics and comfort is significantly improved. Mattress pads or toppers with latex and/or wool are dust mite and mold-resistant. Polyester is a durable fabric and is easy to wash and maintain and can be less expensive than other fabrics. Polyester does not wick moisture, although it can be fast-drying, and is not considered hypoallergenic. Polyester is less wrinkly than cotton giving you a smoother foundation to sleep on. Most mattress protects include a layer that also contains a waterproofing material like vinyl or polyurethane.
