Set Up & Take Down
If you’ve ever used an outdoor hammock before, you’d probably be very familiar with setup and takedown of this particular hammock as well. Find two trees, strap the hammock to them, and enjoy your time. Takedown is just as easy, just in the reverse. If you’re confused on how to use the straps or maybe this is your first time – it’s okay! They supply labeled photo style instructions with every purchase and even keep them on the website for your convenience.
The stuff sack is included and is attached to the center of the hammock which makes it super convenient for take-down and stow-away, plus you’ll never lose it. It was easy enough to pack away, roll up the hammock in a tight bundle, stuff it in the sack, cinch the sack closed and use a carabiner to attach it to the outside of your hiking gear. That’s it! you’re all ready to change camps.

There are an overwhelming amount of choices to choose from by way of colors and patterns. All the colors of the rainbow and many patterns that are eye-catching and also efficient. The one we reviewed was of the Camo pattern variety, which of course as we all know is helpful for all the camping hunters out there. And while we purchased the single, there are just as many colors and patterns to choose from in the double – built for two – variety.

The single hammock measures 4.5 feet by 9 feet and weighs 16 ounces. The double hammock is large enough for two people to cozy up in, weighs in at 10 ounces heavier, but measures 10 feet by 6.5 feet. Both varieties hold up to 400 pounds of weight in total.
Everything you need to hang the hammock is included, carabiners and eight-foot nautical grade straps. Each purchase comes with instructions just in case you’ve never tied a knot or have suddenly forgotten how to; it’s really like Wise Owl has your back every step of your adventure!

Durability & Safety
Their hammocks hold up to the standard 400 pounds. As stated before, they use a different material than most other companies producing similar products. Their 210T nylon is the same fabric that skydivers use… if it’s safe enough to jump out of the plane with, it should be safe enough to lay a few feet above the ground in. They secure their fabric with triple interlocking stitching to ensure there is no ripping.
Their carabiners are made of aircraft aluminum, are rust free, no sharp edges, quick release, and can withstand up to over 2900 pounds of force. Purchase a couple more as a “just in case” if you lose one, but maybe you want to use it to clip your water bottle to your belt loop or your hammock stuff sack to your backpack.
The straps they sell, and that are included with your initial purchase, are 10 feet in length and have a total of 19 loops. They are made of poly-filament webbing and are triple stitched just like the hammock bed.
My favorite part about this company is that they are looking for their buyers to be as kind to their outdoor home as possible while they’re adventuring. They consciously created their straps to be durable and wide enough to leave the least amount of marks on the trees you choose to use. Because most campsites won’t let you use ropes for this very reason – make sure you have a set of the XL Talon straps with you at all times, for the sake of the trees and for your bed!
Storage
After cleaning your hammock and making sure it’s nice and dry, you’ll easily tightly roll, stuff, and stack away your hammock for easy, long-term storage. The attached stuff sack won’t ever get lost. It is easily cinched closed and can be hidden inside your pack at the size of a grapefruit or attached to the outside with the carabiner clips.
