I love this mattress. Comfortable and holds air. I didn’t even have the pump plugged in and it held its air for months. I use it as a spare mattress at our vacation home. I had an issue and the Customer Service is second to none.
They responded and fixed my problem super fast.

I read in this review site that you wouldn’t recommend the air mattress for everyday use. My question is, what if you are traveling every 6 months and are forced to use a air mattress at the new places you live. Would the air mattress hold up to it at least for a few months?

Hi, I’m in Australia, my family are coming from interstate for Christmas and staying 7 days. Will this queen size air bed be comfortable for them to sleep on for 7 nights straight OR should we play musical beds ie they sleep on it for 3nights then my husband & I swap with them and we sleep on itv& they sleep in our bed? ALSO, is it also advisable to put a mattress cotton padded topper on top of the mattress then the sheet so that it is more comfortable & not sweaty? Thanks Lesley

Frank Apodaca
If you add a topper on it, it would be comfortable enough and stop that cool feeling you get from sleeping directly on an air mattress. You’ll just have to ask them to be sure, but this is a pretty good product for a temporary sleep solution.

Hello. We plan on flying to our destination and need an twin air mattress for our room. Do you have a twin size with built in electrical pump that can be taken on a plane (carry on) or stored in a suitcase (very lightweight)?
Replies
Frank Apodaca
There is a twin size here for the SoundAsleep yes.

The Pump started blowing out air on ‘inflate’ and sounded like it was deflating. Does that mean it reached capacity and was stopping it from over flowing? Or is the pump broken?
Replies
Frank Apodaca
If you deflate it and then inflate again with the pump does it still inflate? If yes then I would say the pump still works. It will make a different sound once you get to full capacity.

have there been any issues with the mattress splitting where the pump control meets the plastic of the mattress?

Frank Apodaca
Not that we’ve found.

Thoughts on inflating/deflating using an inverter plugged into the vehicle?
That’s basically what the commenter above has in his car.

Hey James,
Yeah there should be no problem using an inverter to inflate or deflate the mattress. Inverters have safety’s anyways if its drawing too much power but I doubt it would.

I have a box spring that is very shallow with a pillow top mattress on top. I sleep in one place and one position and have troughs have developed that have become uncomfortable. Could this be used on the box spring instead of a regular mattress for everyday sleeping? My weight is about 150 pounds.
Replies
Frank Apodaca
Hey Joanne,
Honestly I wouldn’t recommend it. It’s a great air mattress but the company doesn’t even recommend you do that. You just aren’t going to get the same level of support, or durability that you could with an actual mattress. If budget is an issue, take a look at this post. Particularly the Brentwood. It’s very reasonably priced and comes with a trial. Our review on that is going to be released very soon.

I am looking to buy this mattress but I really need quiet when I sleep. However in the ‘cons’ this review stated that the pump made a noise. Can someone tell me if the pump in the mattress makes a continual noise throughout the night?? This would drive me crazy if it does.
Replies
Frank Apodaca
The pump is the normal noise you get when you first inflate. This one doesn’t have the continuous pump like the Insta Bed does so you won’t ever hear the pump unless you turn it on yourself.
Robin
Do they make a full size in this mattress? If so how much are they and where can you find them on line to buy?
Thank you,
Robin

At this time just the queen size.

What type of sheets fit the queen size bed? Do they actually tuck in underneath the mattress? If we were to use a regular metal frame with wooden slats to put the mattress on, how high would the bed be? Thanks!
Replies
Frank Apodaca
Standard sheets. They wouldn’t be deep enough to tuck underneath the mattress no.

I am interested in a king size version of this mattress. We will be renting a condo that has a very soft mattress and I have a bad back and need a firm mattress. I was thinking of placing this product on top of the soft mattress to give my back a break. Do you have any other suggestions to resolve this issue?
Replies
Frank Apodaca
I don’t think they make a king size at this point. Also this air mattress is quite high already so adding it ontop of another mattress might make it difficult to get in. Unless maybe your mattress is already on the floor. I suggest looking at some of our mattress reviews here.

I want to use this air mattress for my daughters room who is currently in college. It will be used for weekend and extended holiday visits. My question is, will this mattress fit in a platform frame or would it be too high, requiring a step ladder to get in/out of? The frame is about 18 inches from the floor. Also, considering what we’re using it for, is this the best option for our needs?
Replies
Frank Apodaca
Hey Vee,
This air mattress is already 19″ high. So 37″ or a little over 3 feet is a little high to get in and out of. Really, you don’t need to have the frame if you go with the SoundAsleep. If you’re not too worried about price you can take a look at the instabed ez bed which comes with a frame and is super easy to setup.

Thank you! I will never be too far away from a car so the camping version will be fine. What is the model name/number of the camping version?

Can this mattress be inflated manually when power isn’t available?
Replies
Frank Apodaca
Unfortunately you can’t. You need 110v. If you are looking for something on trips where there is no electricity but you have access to your car, I would recommend the camping version. It has a rechargeable pump that can be charged in your car or electrically and should be able to inflate/deflate 4-6 times. If you are looking for something on longer trips without electricity and no car I would suggest the Lightspeed with 4d battery pump.

For a camping trip with 2 people across the country this summer what is your recommendation for a tent that would be a compliment to this SoundAsleep Dream Series Air Mattress?
Replies
Frank Apodaca
If you are going for the taller air mattress as opposed to the camping version of the SoundAsleep, you will need a larger tent. I find that a 5 person tent works well for this and has some room to put your other belongings.
Dave
If I’m out in the woods camping where their is no electricity how can I inflate the mattress? Are there retail outlets throughout the country that can service this mattress or give me a new one if something goes wrong in our camping travels across the country?
Replies
Frank Apodaca
Hey Dave,
You can try the camping version which has a rechargeable pump and you can charge it in your car. Thats probably the best bet if you are going to travel across the country. Or try the Lightspeed, as it comes with a 4d battery pump. You can read our review here.

My wife and I are new to camping, although I’ve gone a few times. Wifey really wants a comfy air mattress, as opposed to a sleeping bag. Is this a good choice, and what would you say has been the general opinions of those who have used it outdoors? If we’re camping out for several nights, is it advised to deflate the mattress during the day, and inflate it again at night? Any general suggestions for using this for camping would be great. Thank you.

Hey Michael,
If you prefer to be higher off the ground, this version of the air mattress is a great choice. If you want something lower, you can try the camping version of the SoundAsleep. A lot of people prefer taller air mattresses and that’s why this one is still recommended for camping. There is no issue with leaving it inflated. You may have to refill every so often to get it back to its firmness.
John
Hello,
How long should I let the bed completely inflate? Is it possible to over inflate the bed?
Thank you,
John
Replies
Frank Apodaca
It takes about 4 minutes to fully inflate and once you reach a point where you feel it is firm enough, just switch it off. Over inflation isn’t likely, if you start to hear a change in sound of the pump when fully inflated, its your queue to turn it off.
Nicole
Hi what size internal pump does this air mattress have I cant seem to find it on the description.
Thanks Nicole
Replies
Frank Apodaca
Hey Nicole,
The pump plugs into any standard 110V outlet.
Replies
Elaine Chan
You do have any version for 220V? I want to use this in HK and a UK plug will be perfect.
Replies
Frank Apodaca
Hey Elaine,
You can get a converter from Amazon. It should work with a ton of different style plugs and at 220v to 110.
