Ordered Oct 2017…. Many many emails that it was being tested and updated and asking for eta on delivery
Finally arrived in 2021 and was amazed!
Now it pumps so little air it won’t even make the bed?!!?
Not happy with this product

I was all in to support a growing business… no response!
Is there a solution to the problem for me from smartduvet?

Smartduvet has reached out to me and offered to fix the problem…. If this offer is good I will be really happy with this product!!! When the wife is happy- I am happy ? smartduvet will be sending me a prepaid return box. I will update this as more happens!?

Ordered mine late September. Haven’t received it. I inquired last month and they said it would be shipped soon. I’ve inquired twice since then and haven’t even gotten a response. DO NOT BUY!!!

Item was ordered on September 20th and finally delivered on November 18th. The app is still being tested and has a few bugs. I’m not sure if I will keep the item as it doesn’t seem to get cold enough at night. My intention in buying this item was to lower my energy bill in the summer by not cooling the whole room at night. Unfortunately, I don’t think this will be possible. I’ll give it a few more nights to decide.

I backed this campaign in July 2017. It’s now July 2022 and I still have never received my SmartDuvet or even a FedEx tracking number, as promised. I’ve emailed the SD Team numerous times over the past 5 years, especially when I was concerned at seeing the “fulfilled” contributions numbers increasing far above my own contribution number. It was always “8 to 10 days”, or “12 to 14 days”, or “18 to 24 days” away– for YEARS.

After the pandemic began, I emailed again and received a strange link to track container ships. I checked the ship for weeks, but couldn’t make sense of what was happening or if my item was even really on that ship.

Now they tell me that they had me down as already shipped, and that they have to check with a warehouse to find out what happened. The order never shipped. My BackerKit page even verifies that the order was never shipped. Of course they offer a refund, and say I can re-order when units arrive for next-day shipping. Of course that means I’d have to buy the same unit at a higher price than my original pledge.

Such a bad taste over this. Never again.

Received last week, we are happy with the cooling option. Didn’t have the chance to test the bed making much, I needed more clips to attach to my sheets. My iPad wasn’t able to connect so we decided to use an old phone to control it as a remote.

Ordered Cover last year, was billed same day. months went buy. no cover, after repeated email to them, I was given a ship number etc. Never received product of refund. Haven’t heard from since. My really wnating this kept me from cancelling order and reporting scam. my mistake. BEWARE

I have had my Smart duvet since October 2020 and have been very happy with it. I had ordered mine through Indiegogo in Oct 2017 and understand the frustrations of waiting for delivery. Since its arrival, it has not left my bed. I am 72 and my body temperature is all over the place and I felt this product could help. It did satisfy my need. If you don’t want to use the cooling and heating it works well as a weighted blanket. The Smart duvet really came to my rescue last February and March right after my knee replacement surgery. I was very uncomfortable plus I always seemed to be too cold especially my feet even with socks on. Being able to control the warmth of my bed was really special, it took care of my feeling cold. I took care of my feet by placing them near the hose connection, so nice so warm. Started to use the warming function lately, I can keep the house cooler at night and be nice and cosy under my Smart Duvet. Also, my dog Mark likes laying on and under the covers. He hasn’t damaged the Smart duvet. I am very happy with my purchase.

I ordered mine back in September and was told repeatedly that I’d get a tracking number. I finally gave up and asked for a refund. I really wanted a smart duvet, but I felt like I was being scammed.

I ordered in November and received it last week, was supposed to arrive before Christmas. I have to say, we have loved the Smartduvet since it arrived! We don’t really use the bed making option, just the air heating. Hopefully they will sort out shipping.

I recived my smartduvet but had trouble syncing the box with my iPhone. First you have to
download the app testflight to even get the smartduvet app . Secondly it tells you in instructions not to pick the bluetooth options. I had to going back and choose the bluetooth then it synced right away. I think it is a misprint.I do have to say smartduvet customer service was great at helping me navigate through some of the issue. They asked me to put this info about bluetooth here to help others as the instructions may be wrong as well. Now i just have to c if it works tonight . Gingers crossed!

Hi, we tested the Smart duvet for the last week, it took a bit of getting used to since I was using a heavy blanket and this is lighter. We use it for the hot and cold option. I am always cold at night so I like to turn on the heating before going to bed, this way it’s already warm when I get there. I must admit installing it the first time was challenging but it’s definitely a keeper.

When did you order it? I ordered mine back in September and still haven’t received it. I was hoping to get in time for Christmas. Christmas has come and gone, so now I’m shooting for my husband’s birthday at the end of January. I’m starting to feel like I’ve been scammed and will never receive it.

UPDATE: The Smart Duvet finally arrived mid-January but, unfortunately, my husband and I were very dissatisfied. The biggest complaint we had is how uncomfortable the “Smart Layer” was. I’m not sure what it’s made of, but it felt like stiff plastic. It was also designed with large holes in it, so my feet kept getting stuck in it. If that’s not bad enough, it didn’t warm up or cool off our duvet at all. It’s possible that we had a defective unit but, in all actuality, it doesn’t matter – the uncomfortable Smart Layer killed it for us.

The one positive thing I can say about this company is that they responded promptly to my emails throughout the inquiry and return process, and they were responsive to my concerns. I was refunded in full shortly after I returned it.

You actually got it? I ordered on int 2018 and still don’t have it. I keep checking in and they say it is on the way, but nothing. I feel like I got scammed. All their post and media was from 2017 and I’ve seen nothing newer accept this post!

I ordered on Aug 1st 2021 and never received it. Emailed them a few times and the shipping date kept moving back. I finally emailed them a couple days ago and requested a refund.
They immediately responded with a refund notice and today my bank was credited with the money!
I DO NOT think this was a scam but just things out of their control.
I really wished I could have got the product, I was looking forward to it.

I paid for mine in August 2021 also, it is now July 29, 2022 and I have not recieved the product or my money. I have emailed and have gotten the response that shipping is slow because of China… WTF it cost $525, that is theft, right??

Yes, have you tried sending them an email? I also asked them about the comments, they said N.Nick received his box and E.Clark was refunded. After one month using it, we wouldn’t sleep without it. The heating and cooling is great.

THEY ARE A SCAM!!! DO NOT ORDER!!!! Ordered in July and still haven’t received it. Was originally told it would ship beginning of August, them mid-August. Then early September, now it’s late September. Gave a tracking number. Package has not moved. STILL NOTHING!!! SCAM, SCAM, SCAM!!!!

We ordered ours in the very beginning and it took 3 years to come and I’m not joking. After emails and shipping numbers it was insane. However as I was tracking it it’s coming from China on a ship and then goes to Vancouver and then back I to the states then into Canada again. It was the weirdest shipping I had ever seen. However fast forward a year and it no longer works when I turn it on there’s a burning smell. I have to pay usd to ship it to a Canadian site to fix but I can’t ship it they have too. Strange in my opinion.

I ordered my smart duvet almost 3 months ago now and am totally convinced this is a scam. Have not received the duvet and continue getting bogus updates with fake tracking numbers. They keep saying it’s on it’s way, clearing customs, etc. The FedEx tracking number I have has not moved from its warehouse in weeks. Total scam!!!! Anyone who said they received their duvet is likely lying in order to help keep up this scam

Ik heb mijn smart duvet nu 6 maanden en het gaat nu al kapot. Het maakt een raar geluid ook al gebruik ik hem niet. En ook het als ik hem op koelen zet word het dekbed helemaal op geblazen. Ik meerdere keren gemaild met smartduvet. Maar ze vergoeden geen verzend kosten en ook geen invoer rechten als ik hem opstuur om hem te laten maken. Ik voel me gewoon opgelicht. Dat ding is mega duur. En ze bieden absoluut geen service!!!

I had my Smart Duvet for 5 months now and I absolutely love it! I ordered mine when in was in crowdfunding which took two years to develop the product. We mainly use it for the temperature feature and we are very happy with it!

Definitely do not buy. You will never receive anything other than a ship tracking number that never has your product on it.
Im in the process of charging this back though my credit card as they won’t even refund as promised

Just googled if this was a scam or not since I ordered mine and thought a month out was long. I am seeing some folks waited 2 years!!!! What the heck…they told me it would be shipped within 2 weeks of ordering. I have reached out for a tracking number no avail. Still get “we see your order and you will receive an email within 2 weeks when item is ready to ship.” I have never waited more than 2 weeks for an item purchased to be shipped or received.

I guess they should not advertise till they catch up as word will get out. Definitely lacking somewhere.

Wondering if anyone, who has received this, has dogs or pets? I have two labradors who sleep in my bed with me. Will it continue to work with them laying on top of the smart duvet? C/would they damage it? Thanks for you insight.

Took 20 minutes to install our Smart duvet the first time but we are very pleased with it, heating and cooling works great. I had a plastic clip missing when received but they sent a new bag after contacting customer service. I also use the automated bed making every morning on a schedule.

4th time I have been promised a TRACKING NUMBER, and have not yet been notified of product shipping. Was told at beginning it will ship 14 to 21 days , then month and a half later it was on ship to U.S. Then 2 months later I will get TRACKING NUMBER from Fed Ex that Friday. Then next Monday I will get TRACKING NUMBER within 24 to 48 hours.They said they were checking their warehouse for my order. I SAW AN AD FOR BEDJET AND WISHED I HAD ORDERED FROM THEM INSTEAD. NOW I SEE SMART DUVET IS NO LONGER TAKING ORDERS.I THINK THEY WERE OVER THERE HEADS IN THIS BUSINESS.

Wish I wasn’t typing this right now since the product concept seemed amazing. Wife and I ordered one through the Kickstarter campaign back in October 2017. Since then, our experience has been pretty much lock, stock and barrel the same as most others’ on here. Multiple emails, promises of “two weeks out” or “next batch coming off the production line” but never any fulfillment. Requested a refund by email today. We’ll see. This thing is either a scam or literally the worst-run company on Earth. Avoid at all costs.

Finally arrived, a dozen promises and 4 false shipping labels later. The vinyl is loud and crackling as you move at night. I ordered the dual sides, machine doesn’t have enough power to force air through the entire “smart layer”.

The Bluetooth control only works for one device at a time. Make sure you disconnect, or the other side won’t be able to connect to adjust during the night.

The controls are backwards. Left and right are determined by standing at the foot of the bed, looking at the head. Totally opposite of left and right at 2:30 am when you wake and try to adjust. Be careful not to adjust the wrong side.

Key note. The temperature setting has nothing to do with the temperature. It tries to adjust, based on the air in the room. A little humidity greatly reduced the smartduvet’s ability to perform properly.

The bed making part? Be careful, that you don’t have a drink or other fragile item on a nearby nightstand. The duvet has no problem knocking it off the stand.

One more thing. There is no way to turn the smartduvet off during the day, except by flipping the switch on the back of the box, under the bed. A simple addition to the app should’ve taken care of that. Maybe it has? I don’t know, because the app still isn’t available at the app stores. When you try to update using the app, it freezes.

Love the concept, but it still has a long way to go to become a quality product on a world scale.

It’s not a scam, we did finally get ours. We ordered it in 2017. I don’t like it. I’m freezing, the air is not very warm at all. I really wish it wasn’t made out of vinyl! Why not parachute type fabric? I bee like I’m camping.

I received mine in April and I love it. I preordered this two years ago and it was definitely worth the wait. I was sceptical about the self making bed but I haven’t had to make my bed since I got it 🙂

I ordered in November 2017 and have been in rare email communication with their customer support. I have been told there were firmware and bug fix delays, then in November 2019 they said it would ship in a few weeks.
It is now July 2020, and I haven’t heard or seen anything else from them. I am having them keep my order open because I have just been waiting too long for it and I want it.
But, for anyone considering buying it, I would say wait until you physically have it in hand.

Did the whole Kickstarter order in Oct 2017. Asked for updates and they responded quickly with the same stuff everyone else is saying. Received 8/10/2020. Set everything up and it works. I don’t feel any cooling or warming coming through. I did feel it at the unit but the cool air is no more than circulated air. My feet get caught in the big holes in it. It feels like some threw an air mattress on me. I’m emailing tomorrow to return. Don’t waste your time or money.

I too have been waiting for almost a year for my Smartduvet. Every couple months I send an email asking for an update; each time they tell me 2-3 weeks. Recently they even sent me a tracking number, but it was not for my shipment. I believe they are taking orders with no intention on delivering anytime soon. The one customer I could find who actually got a delivery (waiting 3 years) was extremely disappointed in the quality of the final product. I’m requesting a refund, hopefully they grant it.

Almost three years waiting and feeling like Rip van Winkle. Ordered in Sept 2017 and finally gave up waiting for the delivery that never came. Lots of shipping notices and updates, but no product. Finally gave up and asked for a refund. Original credit card was replaced and they asked for a PayPal email for refunding, which I had to set up. They claimed that a refund would be processed in a few days.

I just received my tracking number from them. I thought it would never come, but I’ll get it on June 2nd. I was very skeptical on this whole thing too, thinking just to get my refund back, but they’re following through.

I ordered it in Oct 2017 as well. Their website keeps updating saying that anyone with order numbers under #4000 should have shipped. They have said that since 7/15/2019 that I should be getting mine. 6 months later, their last update on 12/6/2019 said King #4500 and below should have theirs shipped within 14 days. Today is 1/6/2020 and still no shipping email in site!

Well at least you got yours! I bought one on a crowd funding sit as well in Oct. 2017! After I don’t know how many emails and unkept delivery promises, I got a “your refund has been processed” note!! I wrote back immediately Telling them I didn’t want a refund and got a “sorry, we can’t reverse it”. Problem is I don’t even have that credit card anymore and was told I’d have to contact the credit card company and make arrangements to get a cheque. I could then send my new credit card info to get the duvet. I’m convinced it’s all a con. They’re now selling on the web for double what I paid for it!!

As a consumer who’s tried this? Don’t bother. I ordered this on kickstarter years ago. I had to ask them for updates every 2 months because they don’t update properly. They finally sent it with no notice via fed ex requiring signatures or it would be returned to Canada. We got the thing and set it up. We spent about 2 weeks trying to troubleshoot it. It didn’t warm or cool. And making the bed would trap the air. Overall the experience was like sleeping under an air mattress. The ambient lighting sticks on neon green and the ios app freezes at the drop of a hat. Oh and the rings kept popping off the cover. We finally got authorization for exchange. It’s been more than a month since they said I would be shipped a replacement and they aren’t responding to emails.

I wish I had found these comments before ordering back in 2019. I was impressed they actually contacted me back saying I would having shipping confirmation in two weeks and delivery within the month (I figured I was scammed by that point and would never hear back). Here we are two months later and nothing. I requested a refund, but I will be surprised if that comes through. This review needs to be changed and people need to be alerted to this scam. I give them half a star for effort.
