We just purchased a new mattress. My husband’s skin often bleeds. I sleep hot. Which mattress protector should we get?

I think this could be a good pick: https://www.thesleepjudge.com/protect-a-bed-cooling-mattress-pad-therm-a-sleep-snow-protector-review/

Will this product help with allergens and dust mites?

Your top recommendation is Slumber Cloud and you comment that the warranty is “standard of 60 days, so just a little under 2 years,” and that “Compared to a lot of the other manufacturer’s warranties, that’s pretty decent.” 60 days is not just a little under 2 years, and perhaps you meant “2 months.” Do you think that is pretty decent? All the others you review have warranties in the 10 year range. Does this change your recommendation. I don’t know why they would not warrant it for longer, especially for the very high price.

The 10 year warranty with ‘protect-a-bed’ is a scam. The fine print is impossible to comply with.

Yes we meant months. Thanks for the correction.
There are quite a few out there where there are no warranties so this is better than a large number of other protectors. We pick and choose the protectors we review based on quality and popularity factors. But you’re right, the warranty is short for such a quality product. It won’t change our recommendation because of the quality of materials, construction and knowledge level of the people that run the company… we think very highly of Slumber Cloud products. Regardless, I will reach out and ask why the warranty doesn’t hit some of the other brands levels.

Is not a full mattress encasement, thus does not protect well against mites, bed bugs, etc. Why do you rate Protection at 100%?

Because this isn’t an encasement and doesn’t get rated like one. For a mattress protector, it does its job as well or better than the rest of the mattress protectors we reviewed. If you want to read about encasements, you can find them here.
