Sleep Restoration Air Mattress

When seeking the right mattress for daily use, you definitely want to take your time. After all, this is a long-term sleep solution that needs to be able to provide years of comfort and support. However, for short-term solutions, you probably don’t want to spend a whole lot of money. In this situation, a quality air mattress can usually do the trick.

Sleep Restoration recently sent me over their queen-sized air bed, and I’m excited to tell you about my experience so you can determine if it will meet your needs. Keep in mind that air mattresses are not intended for daily use. This should be something you’re buying for occasional use.

Sleep Restoration Air Mattress Features

Simple Inflation

Getting your mattress inflated is a breeze. It features a built-in air pump, and all you have to do is plug it in and turn it on to inflate. Once you arrive at the firmness level that best suits your needs, just turn the knob to the “off” position. It only took me 3 ½ minutes to get my mattress fully inflated.

If you plan on using your air mattress for rustic-style camping, the pump could pose a problem as you do need a power outlet to air it up. While it can be used outdoors, just make sure you’re able to transport the mattress to and from your campsite to inflate and deflate.

Mattress Comfort and Support

This mattress is 20 inches tall, so it makes it a lot easier to get out of than many other air beds on the market. The cover is kind of fuzzy, and this really helps increase the overall comfort level. The flocked top helps prevent sliding that’s commonly associated with air mattresses.

Any bed is all about comfort and support. No air mattress is going to compete with the real deal, but, for an air mattress, it’s pretty accommodating. I like the way the flocked cover feels, and firmness can be adjusted by inflating or deflating to your preference.

With its top coil system, you can enjoy even distribution of your weight across the entire top surface. The construction consists of multiple layers of durable materials that are both puncture-resistant and waterproof. The thickness works to offer stability and comfort.

Air Leakage Expectations

The major hangup with air mattresses is that they do tend to lose air through the night. You definitely want to get an idea of how much air you can expect to lose. I’ve used this product for a few nights in a row now, and I did have to inflate once every night. I weigh 130 pounds, so I think this would be most accommodating for young kids who may spend the night on occasion or for a single person. However, it’s not that big of a deal to air up if you do need to add more weight.

You often find that your air bed starts holding air better after the first few uses as there is an initial stretching phase it has to go through to break it in. So far, mine is performing about the same, but this could improve.

Sheet Fitting

The dimensions on the Sleep Restoration air bed are regulated to be used with standard, fitted queen sheets. The side indentations built into the mattress are designed to keep your sheet in place, and I had no trouble keeping my fitted sheet from coming off.

Durability Expectations

While air mattresses aren’t intended to last as long as a traditional sleep product, you still want to get the most for your money. This product has a few features that can help ensure durability including:

  • Contains multi-layers
  • Waterproof materials used
  • Double-height

Mattress Deflation

Deflating is just as simple as inflating. Simply turn the knob, and your mattress will be fully deflated in about three minutes. When deflated, just fold it up and place it in the oversized carrying bag included. It only weighs 16.7 pounds, so it’s very easy to transport if you wanna take it on your next vacation. When not in use, it easily fits in the closet or out in the garage. It’s important to note that air beds aren’t intended for nightly use.

Size

This product is 78” by 58” by 20”, and it weighs in at 16.4 pounds. This makes it easy to take along with you on your next trip. I really liked the height. Air beds that are thinner can be difficult to get in and out of. However, when you’re nearly two feet off the ground, it almost feels like you’re stepping out of a traditional mattress on box springs.

Cost

For an affordable price, you can acquire a viable temporary sleep solution that should last quite some time when used correctly. You can easily purchase the queen-sized Sleep Restoration air mattress online. I have confidence it will prove efficient in meeting your short-term needs as long as you have access to a power source.

Sleep Restoration Reviews and Feedback

I had a great experience with my Sleep Restoration air mattress, and I think its height helps it imitate a real mattress quite well. My kids have used it more than a couple of times to accommodate their friends who sometimes spend the night, and it’s also proven to be helpful on vacation.

I looked around online to see what other people had to say about their experience with this product to give you a well-rounded understanding of what you can expect:

Pros

  • Double-height makes getting in and out of bed easy
  • Built-in pump makes inflation and deflation simple
  • Ability to customize firmness is convenient
  • Mattress is able to hold air pretty well
  • Fitted sheets stay in place
  • Carrying bag makes it easy to transport and store the product

Cons

  • Not well-suited for camping
  • Sleep surface is initially cold
  • Pump is too loud

Our Final Verdict

Considering the quality construction, the Sleep Restoration air bed is pretty inexpensive, and I think it could make a great guest bed or camping sleep solution. Just make sure to bring along a fitted sheet to protect the white cover.

Sleep Restoration offers a 30 day warranty, and this is kind of short. However, it shouldn’t take long to determine if the product is faulty. Just make sure to keep that 30 day window in mind after your purchase. Overall, I think you’re getting a great value for a sleep product that does a pretty good job at imitating a real mattress.
