Plushbeds Botanical Bliss Mattress

Sleep deprivation is often the result of an uncomfortable mattress. Companies have spent years developing mattresses that not only support the user’s weight but also provide the comfort necessary for a satisfying sleep. Plushbeds construct their mattresses from organic materials like latex and cotton, making them one of the few companies that can actually boast about creating eco-friendly mattresses. They have 3 types of mattress: Botanical Bliss, Natural Bliss, and Luxury Bliss. At least one of these mattresses will guarantee a sound and satisfying sleep for any customer. Wondering how? All About Plushbeds Botanical Bliss Mattress

• Comfort and Feel

Plushbeds mattresses use 100% natural latex, which makes them eco-friendly. There are many mattresses produced which claim to be 100% natural, but Plushbeds’ Botanical Bliss is one of the very few mattresses that earns that label. Latex mattresses like Plushbeads are especially appealing because they combine the properties of memory foam and innerspring mattress. These hybrid mattresses contour to the body of the sleeper like memory foam without making them sink into the mattress. They are also bouncy, a result of the innerspring property. Plushbeds mattresses boast of six firmness options, which is quite impressive. Customers can even customize the layers of a mattress to meet their firmness preferences.

Comfort And Feel Rating: 4.6/5

• Edge Support

Latex mattresses are about average when it comes to edge support, so adding pocketed coils in the support layer provides added support to the entire mattress (all the way to the edges). Plushbeds Botanical Bliss and Natural Bliss mattresses are not constructed using pocketed coils, giving them about average edge support. The only Plushbeds mattress with pocketed coils in the support layer is the Luxury Bliss, which is a far more sturdy and satisfying mattress than the others.

Edge Support Rating: 4/5

• Motion Isolation

Plushbeds mattresses are designed to isolate motion fairly well. However, it is worth noting that latex foam is a bit bouncier and can result in a little less motion isolation than a memory foam mattress. Still, attention has been paid to ensure these latex mattresses offer the best motion isolation possible from these materials.

Edge Support rating 4.8/5

• Off-Gassing

Most mattresses off-gas, the only question is how pungent the odor is and how long it takes it to dissipate. Mattresses made from high-quality materials do not off-gas for long and the odor generally isn’t pungent. Off-gassing is little more than a new product smell after all, so it’s rarely that big of an issue. Plushbeds are made from high-quality materials, so the off-gassing is minimal. However, it is important to open the mattress in a well-ventilated area to ensure that the odor dissipates as quickly as possible.

Off-Gassing Rating: 4.75/5

• Temperature

Sleeping on a mattress that traps heat can be quite uncomfortable and unproductive. That’s why most mattresses are made using materials that allow for adequate airflow in and out of the mattress. Plushbeds mattresses are constructed using latex and organic cotton, which are known for breathability. Their latex foams are aerated for greater airflow, which helps with thermal regulation. These mattresses do not trap heat and are guaranteed to provide cool sleeping conditions.

Temperature Rating: 4.7/5

• Delivery and Setup

Plushbeds mattresses are compressed, vacuum sealed, and delivered in a box. Delivery is made to the contiguous US states for free. Plushbeds make their deliveries through UPS within 7-9 working days after purchase (custom orders made during holidays make take extra 7 days). Customers will receive a UPS tracking number within 24 hours after their mattress ships. Plushbeds does not offer in-home assembly or old mattress removal services. These mattresses will work well on a box spring (with or without a frame), an adjustable base, a platform bed, or a slatted bed.

• Trial and Warranty

Plushbeds offers customers a 100-night sleep trial for all their mattresses. The sleep trial includes a mandatory 30-night break-in period. Customers that wish to return their mattress before the end of the break-in period will have $99 deducted from their refund. If the mattress is soiled or damaged it will be returned back to the customer with no refund.

In addition to the sleep trial, customers are also offered a 100-night comfort exchange for latex mattresses. Customers may choose to change their current latex layer for another one for a $145 deposit fee. Customers will be required to manually change the comfort layer by opening the mattress by unzipping and removing the original comfort layer and replacing it with the new one.

The warranty period for the Plushbeds mattress is a 25-year prorated and non-prorated period. The first 10 years of the warranty is non-prorated. During the warranty period, Plushbeds will replace or repair any defective mattress, but the customer will be in charge of shouldering the transportation and shipping costs. The prorated period is for the final 15 years of the warranty coverage. During this period, customers are must pay 50% of the original price of the mattress for their defective mattress to be replaced.

Trial and Warranty Rating: 4.6/5

Materials

One of the primary reasons I chose to review Plushbeds is because it utilizes organic, natural, and CertiPUR-US Certified foams. If you are not familiar with CertiPUR-US foams, now is a good time to get acquainted. CertiPUR-US is a certification program administered by a not-for-profit organization.

CertiPUR-US certified foams are:

  • Made without ozone depleters.

  • Made without PBDEs, TDCPP or TCEP (”Tris”) flame retardants.

  • Made without mercury, lead, and other heavy metals.

  • Made without formaldehyde.

  • Made without phthalates regulated by the Consumer Product Safety Commission.

  • Made with low VOC (Volatile Organic Compound) emissions for indoor air quality (less than 0.5 parts per million).

Plushbeds offers three different types of mattress, which are all similar in terms of edge support, motion isolation, off-gassing, and temperature. However, they differ in terms of firmness and feel as a result of their materials. As mentioned above, there are 6 different firmness options, which vary based on the arrangement of the layers. The three types of Plushbeds mattresses are the Botanical Bliss Collection, the Natural Bliss Collection, and the Luxury Bliss.

These three types of Plushbeds mattresses all share an organic cotton cover and latex mattress. However, the type of latex used varies on not only the type of Plushbeds mattress but also the model. Let’s break it down in detail:

  1. Plushbeds’ Botanical Bliss Collection has a cover made from organic wool. One advantage of using organic wool is the fact that it is hypo-allergic and is known to resist bacteria, mold, mildew and dust mites. Organic wool is also an excellent insulator that regulates the sleeping temperature in correspondence to the season. Under the cover is one or two layers of Talalay latex. Talalay latex is an organic latex that offers the best of both memory foam and innerspring mattress. It does not trap heat and is not too bouncy. The Botanical Bliss Collection offers 3 different models: a 9-inch model, a 10-inch model, and a 12-inch model.
  2. Plushbeds’ Natural Bliss Collection is constructed using Dunlop latex and organic cotton. The cover is made from organic cotton, and we all know that offers spectacular comfort, softness, and smoothness. Organic cotton is also hypo-allergic, making the Natural Bliss Collection safe for use regardless of allergies. This mattress also comes in three different heights: 6-inch (which does not have a comfort layer), 8-inch (which has a single Talalay latex comfort layer) and the 10-inch model (which has two Talalay latex comfort layers). All of the models have Dunlop latex in the support layer.

  3. Plushbeds’ Luxury Bliss has only one model made of 3-inch Dunlop latex in the comfort layer and pocketed coil at the support layer. The pocketed coil is the reason why the Luxury Bliss has the best edge support. Pocketed coils provide support and fast bounce back.

Plushbeds makes mattresses to satisfy almost any type of sleepers. The materials are 100% organic and eco-friendly. Not bad at all.

Popular Review

Jon Auer, editor of Mattress Clarity:

“The PlushBeds Botanical Bliss is a 100% natural latex mattress, which is nearly impossible to find at this price point. Though the price is higher than some mattresses with a similar feel, the value with this mattress is really top-notch. Overall I really enjoyed the sleeping experience. The only real con would be that the mattress is very heavy and difficult to move”

Deana M, a satisfied customer:

“I have 3 mattresses from PlushBeds. They have the most incredible customer service and 25 warranty. Botanical Bliss is the most comfortable mattresses I’ve ever slept on. Life-changing for me!”

Overall Value and Recommendation

Plushbed offers a wide range of mattress types with varying levels of thickness and firmness. These are excellent mattresses, regardless of which style and type you chose. The only disadvantage is poor edge support. Otherwise, Plushbed earns a strong recommendation for its comfortable, durable, affordable, and eco-friendly mattresses.
