The Cocoon is both functional and stylish, and it makes a statement no matter where you put it in your home. In this case, mine is in the living room between my two sliding glass doors. This bean bag is more than just that, it’s a piece of furniture. The creators of this masterpiece made it so that it was supportive and comfortable without it being stiff like traditional furniture. In my house, it’s definitely a piece of furniture that gets used, abused, and moved around a lot. My kids love to sleep on it and use it as a couch when they’re watching their cartoons.

Unboxing
Boy, this thing is h-e-a-v-y! When I carried the box up the stairs, I thought that I was going to be unboxing a bean bag. Rather, I ended up opening the box to find two black cubes, instructions, and the cover. The bean bag itself weighs 52 pounds and measures 72 x 72 x 20 inches. This is a huge bean bag!
Materials Used
The materials used in this bean bag are shredded polyurethane micro-cushions and a durable inner layer. These shredded pieces of foam come compact in those black cubes. The outer layer of this bag is made from micro-suede for a comfortable feel and stylish look.

Setup
When you first open the box, you’ll see that there are two big black squares. These are full of compacted “fluff” or foam pieces. There’s also the liner and the outer cover. Here’s what you have to do in order to get this bean bag up and fluffed:
- Open up the liner
- Put the squares inside of the polyester liner
- Unzip the squares
- Put the compacted foam inside of the liner
- Close the liner and twist off the zipper
- Break up the foam while it’s in the liner.
- Give it 72 hours to fully expand
- Put it inside of the outer cover
- Enjoy!
I’m going to be honest here-the breaking up of the foam is a little bit of a pain. It started to hurt my wrist after a little while. I found it was easier to grasp a bunch of loose fabric and use it like gloves. It helped break up the foam better. If that doesn’t work for you, you just have to get a few kids to jump all over it. Ease of Use
The Cocoon is easy to use, mostly because it remained stationary in my house. The bean bag is rather heavy, so moving it around by myself wasn’t easy. For two people, it might be better, or you ask one strong person in your household. I have terrible upper body strength, so I’m essentially useless when it comes to moving heavy objects. Anyway, changing its positions is easy since you don’t have to move it across the room. Just stand it up and sit!
Comfort
This is one of the most comfortable bean bag chairs that I have ever sat upon. It sucks you in like a memory foam mattress, in a good way, and allows you to easily rest your head or arms upon the balled up fluff. You can gently sit in it, or you can do what my son did and jump into it off of a chair, however, I don’t recommend that. There’s definitely a lot of cushions for you to enjoy, and the cover is nice and soft thanks to that microsuede.
As you can see from the pictures above, there’s plenty of moving room to lay down and sit. If you flatten it out more, you can lay across it without your feet hanging off.

Washability
The great thing about this product is that the top cover can come off and get tossed in the washer and dryer. This is helpful if you use it as your couch or regular chair because we all know spills happen. All you need to do is unzip it and toss it in the washer on a delicate cycle. The same applies to the dryer. It’s would be even better if you hung it outside to dry because then you get that fresh air smell.

For this product, the workmanship is guaranteed for one year. If anything happens to the bean bag due to poor workmanship, they will replace or repair it for you. However, if it is from normal wear and tear, they can repair it at a reasonable cost. They also have a 100% satisfaction guarantee for 30 days. If it does not perform as it should or up to your satisfaction, they will take it back for a replacement or refund.

You can’t always take my word for things, and others will have different opinions, so here are what some other people had to say about this sofa chair.
Most users rave about how comfortable it is, which I completely agree on. They don’t like sitting anywhere else now that they have this giant comfy bean bag in their home. They also love that it’s a good value for the money that they paid. There are a few bad eggs when it comes to the reviews as well. Unfortunately, there IS an off-gassing smell, but it disappears after about a day or two. Also, some users say that the fluff gets everywhere, but I don’t think that they did the setup right. I did notice few pieces of fluff floating around, but they came off of the inside of the bags when I unzipped them. Other than that, the reviews are almost all positive.
Conclusion
The Jaxx Cocoon bean bag chair/couch is one of the most comfortable things that I have ever sat on. It’s a little pricey, but if you can get over that, you won’t be disappointed. I have had people come over and sleep on it instead of my couch, and my kids are always using it to watch their movies and play dolls on. Sure, there are a few kinks that could be worked out, but other than that, the product is solid and a great addition to any home. When compared to the others that I have tested, this one rests at the top. Also, it’s dog approved!
