A Little Bit About the Company

If you’re the type who likes to learn about a company before you give them your business, I think you’ll appreciate the values of eLuxury. The products are made by US veterans, and operations are set up in Evansville, Indiana.

As one of the Internet’s most trusted linen providers, they must be doing something right, and I think it has a lot to do with their philanthropy. Some of the organizations they support include:

  • St. Mary’s Foundation
  • March of Dimes
  • House of Bread and Peace
  • Toys for Tots
  • Support the Troops
  • St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital
  • Soldier Dogs for Independence
  • The Arc Evansville

Careful Selection Process

You can see the bed frame is very nice to look at, and this is because each piece of wood is carefully selected for individuality and imperfections. While many companies use commercial sanders and low-quality paint or stains to cover up knots, holes, and saw marks, eLuxury allows them to shine, and this gives the final product a rustic look. In my case, I painted the headboard, and I love the way it made these features stand out.

Special Note on Painting Your Headboard

If you like how mine looks and want to paint yours, keep in mind it has a grey stain and clear coat on it. Make sure you sand it down before painting.

Use of Other Headboards

We all want to save money. If you already have a headboard, you may be wondering if you could just attach it to the frame. This product is manufactured with pre-drilled holes for the complementary eLuxury headboard. Yours most likely doesn’t have holes in the right spots. If you want to use your own, you’d need to level it with the pre-existing holes. Keep in mind, this could void your warranty.

Headboard Installation Tip

When you try to screw the nut onto the two bolts that hold the headboard up, you may find there’s not enough space to fit it tightly. I found that, by hammering the head of the bolt into the wood, it frees up just enough space to secure it well.

What Color Is It?

There is some confusion when it comes to color. On some pictures online, the frame looks brown. In others, it appears grey. This is an important detail to consider as you decide whether it will look good in your room. As we mentioned, a light grey stain is used. The color is very neutral, and this allows the frame and headboard to fit in well with most color schemes.

No Pre-Treatment Chemicals

Many bed frames are pre-treated with chemicals, and this can cause irritation for some consumers. One of the things I really like about this product is that the old barn wood used only has a grey stain and clear coat applied during manufacturing.

Our Final Verdict

I love the craftsmanship that goes into each and every eLuxury product I’ve tried out. The rustic look of the Mid Century Reclaimed Ash Barn Wood bed frame creates a pleasant aura in any room, and there’s no need to use box springs with it. I think you’ll be happy with how easy it is to put together. Just make sure you have someone around if you buy the headboard as it can be difficult to hoist up onto the frame.
