EluxurySupply 10 Inch Memory Foam Mattress

Finding a good quality mattress with all of the different varieties that are out there can be hard to come by. One claims one thing and another claims the same, but costs three times the price. Which one do you choose? The more expensive one because of the sheer fact that it’s expensive? My point here is that in the name of this mattress is the word “luxury”, but it doesn’t cost as much as other “luxury” mattresses do. eLuxury sent us their mattress to take for a test run. How about we go look at everything it has to offer.

The Eluxury Promise

Mattress companies tend to make promises to their customers, whether it be for a cooler night’s sleep, it’s more comfortable, it’s risk free, and so on. eLuxury has made the promise of a comfortable bed that keeps us cooler while we are sleeping at an affordable price.

It’s tough to find something affordable these days that offer what the eLuxury does with its 3” Elux gel memory foam. They also promise to donate every 1 in 45 mattresses to “awesome” charities. Honestly, I really appreciate companies that do this. Everyone needs a comfortable place to sleep, right?

Presenting The eLuxurySupply Mattress

Sleeping cool has become the trend over the last few years, and eLuxury has boarded the trend train and created a gel infused Elux foam mattress that’s also eco-friendly. The foams that are used in their mattress is CertiPUR-US certified and contain absolutely no phthalates, ozone depleters, CFC’s, mercury, formaldehyde, PBDE’s, heavy metals, lead, and it meets the 16 CFR 1633 federal flammability standard.

When you think of memory foam, you probably think about squishy, smelly foam that sinks under you when you lay on it, right? Over the years, memory foam has been adjusted to not be so soft, unless you want it to be. The eLuxury mattress is made to be not too soft or too firm, it’s right in the middle.

Order Experience & Procedure

Ordering the eLuxury mattress is quite simple and here’s why. All you need to do is pick a size, add it to your cart, enter a discount code, and proceed to checkout. Once you hit that button, you’ll be directed to the checkout page. Here, you have the option to pay with PayPal, credit, or with Elux pay, which is their payment plan.

To me, the order experience is quite simple and on the bottom of each page, there is the option to chat with someone if you need help. If you don’t want to chat online, you can give them a call and they will be more than happy to walk you through it.

Shipping & Packaging

Once you place your order, your mattress will get prepared for shipping. Shipping is always free and you have 30 days to return your order if something is wrong. It will take around 5-7 business days for your package to arrive via Fedex. Honestly, I love Fedex shipping because they seem to be more careful with my packages than UPS is.

Once your package arrives, you’ll notice right away that the box is pretty fancy. It has the eLuxury name plastered all over it and some of their certifications. It is quite heavy, so you will need some help carrying it in the house.

Upon opening the box, you’ll see that it is safely wrapped and vacuum sealed. You will need to lay the mattress out, cut the wrapping, and let it expand. Overall, The packaging is nice, the mattress is neatly packed in the box, and there are even handles on the box (on mine there were anyway) to help with transportation.

Features & Benefits

Are you ready to learn everything about the eLuxurySupply mattress? In this section, I go over everything you need to know and I fill you in on the results of various tests I performed to ensure the validity of some of their claims.

What Sets It Apart?

I know I have mentioned this before, but the main thing that makes this eco-concious mattress so much different is that it has the features of a $1000 mattress while remaining around the $500 range-it does cost a little more if you get some of the larger sizes other than the Queen. It offers the cooling feature and it’s CertiPUR-US certified while being comfortable and soft. It also helps to relieve pressure points and align your spine to its natural position.

Construction & Composition

There are 2 main layers for the Eluxury mattress.

The main feature of the mattress is the 3” Elux gel memory foam. This layer is what is going to keep you cool while you are sleeping. Not only that, but is it going to keep you comfortable. Their gel foam has open cell technology and is infused with millions of gel particles. These particles, along with the open cell technology, allows the surface of your mattress to remain cooler and more comfortable than traditional memory foam.

The 7” high density support foam is the beef of the mattress. It’s the bottom layer that adjusts to the shape of your body to help relieve pressure points and keep your spine in its natural alignment.

One more thing I would like to add is that all of the eLuxurySupply mattresses are hand-crafted in the Unites States and they speak highly of their American craftsmanship.

Comfort

Comfort is a huge deal for my husband and myself. We have two different levels, so I am going to discuss our findings separately.

My Perspective

Personally, I thought that the mattress was perfect for me as a stomach sleeper. It was a tad difficult to roll over because I sunk in quite a bit, but I slept comfortably after I found a good position. It didn’t seem to bother my back as much as other mattresses have in the past. The cover itself it very soft and I love that. I sleep on my mattresses without a sheet for the first week to better validate my tests, and I was totally okay with sleeping on this mattress without one because it’s so soft.

Husband’s Perspective

My husband is really picky about what he sleeps on. He can’t have it be too soft or too firm, it has to be just right. Unfortunately, for him, the mattress was too soft. He is a tad on the larger side of the weight scale, so he sunk in more. He couldn’t seem to get comfortable and it bothered his back in the morning. He was also a fan of the soft cover like I was. He speaks highly of this feature.

Overall, it’s quite comfortable, but it may be more difficult for those who are heavier to roll over and they may sink in more than someone who is on the lighter end of the scale.

Support

One of the main features of the eLuxury is natural spine alignment and pressure point relief. Again, this is where I stress the weight factor. Since my husband is heavier than I am, it didn’t do any justice for this back. He was waking up in pain, whereas I was not. I wasn’t sinking in as much as he was, so I wasn’t subjected to misalignment.

The 7” base foam that I was talking about earlier is what is suppose to keep your body aligned. For him, it wasn’t working because of how heavy he was. I’m thinking that if the mattress had more of a medium-firm feel rather than a plush-medium, he would have slept better.

If you are lighter than my husband, who comes in at around 250 pounds, you shouldn’t have any issues getting the support needed from the eLuxury mattress. The weight factor is a huge deal for this mattress because it seems to me that it doesn’t support everyone equally like other mattresses do that I have tested in the past.

Edge Support

If I am sitting on the edge of my bed putting my socks on in the morning, the last thing I want to do is struggle with it because I keep slipping off of the side of the bed due to a lack in edge support. For the eLuxurySupply mattress, there is a lack in edge support, but nothing major. My husband could sit on the edge of the bed without struggling to stay on.

Motion Isolation

I’m an extremely light sleeper, so the smallest amount of movement can wake me up. This is why motion isolation in my mattresses is vital to my opinion of it. I took my trusty bowling ball and my wine glass, which was empty at the time, but not for long, and bounced the ball near it. I found that it did perform well for motion isolation. There was a small amount of bounce coming from the ball and the glass, but nothing major.

As for us sleeping on it, I didn’t really feel him moving around. This may work even better for those who are lighter than we are. You may not feel movement as much or even at all. My husband also likes to throw himself around and flail in his sleep and the fact that I didn’t really feel any of that really says something about the motion isolation.

Temperature Regulation Features

This is the main selling point of this mattress for me, the temperature regulation features. My husband and I both sleep hot, and on warm nights, it’s just really uncomfortable to sleep if we don’t have something to cool us down. My husband is also known to sweat himself out of the bed, so when I say that we need a cooling mattress, I mean it.

The eLuxury boasts about its Elux gel foam. Inside of the foam are millions of gel beads. These beads, combined with the open cell technology, is suppose to help cool your body down by getting rid of the excess heat. In my opinion, it did its job. Neither him or I were sweating, and we tested this during some of the hottest days the hilltowns of New York have seen in a long time.

So, with that said, how do you think my heat retention test performed? Do you think it is going to validate the temperature regulation claim? Let’s go check it out!

Heat Retention

This is definitely the most important test I do because it confirms or busts the temperature regulation feature claims. What I do is heat up a portion of the mattress and time how long it takes to cool down from 130 degrees to 98 degrees with my temperature gun. In the case of the eLuxury mattress, the temperature regulation features ARE true.

It took the mattress an incredibly fast 11 seconds to cool down. This was without an air conditioner running or a fan, and it was around 75 degrees in the room at the time. There was nothing aiding in the cooling down factor, which makes it even more amazing. The test confirms that the heat is escaping somewhere and the gel and open cells are doing their job.

Smell

When I first unwrapped the mattress, I was expecting to be overwhelmed with the smell of chemicals. I have opened mattresses that were CertiPUR-US certified and they still smelled terribly. The eLuxury does have a small amount of odor to it, but nothing too severe. I opened a window and it was aired out by the end of the day. I was able to sleep on it the same night without having to mask the odor with air fresheners.

Durability & Quality of Construction

When I first took this mattress out of the box, I threw the cover in the washer. When Fedex dropped off my box I wasn’t home and it had rained. Unfortunately, the water somehow for to the mattress and left a stain on it, so I had to wash it. Anyway, washing it didn’t seem to shrink it, and I used bleach, which did take some of the coloring off of the tag.

The zipper remained intact and I didn’t notice any pulls or tears. The only thing that happened was that the bottom part of the cover ripped while I was transporting the mattress to the other room. The bottoms of these mattresses seem really flimsy. This isn’t the first time it has happened, it’s actually the 5th mattress that i’ve had this issue with.

The cover is definitely constructed very well. I must mention that eLuxurySupply has changed the design of the cover and made it a little thicker. I had spoken to a customer service representative about why my cover looked different than theirs and they informed me that they redesigned the cover in August 2016.

Do You Want A Great Warranty

This mattress may only have a 10 year warranty, but it is full coverage. There are no hidden costs, no restrictions, just a solid warranty that covers everything imaginable.

Luxury on a budget?

The eLuxurySupply mattress is in the ideal price range for those looking for a luxurious mattress who may be on a budget. Yes, as you get into the larger sizes, the prices go up, but that’s to be expected. Even then, the price is still quite affordable since a CalKing size costs less than some Queen mattresses that make the luxury claim. It’s soft, comfortable, cooling, all at an affordable price.

Want Something Comfortable?

It’s definitely comfortable if you like the plush-medium firmness feel. You aren’t going to feel like you’re sleeping on a rock and you won’t sink like quicksand, especially if you are lightweight.

Conclusion

I can honestly say that this is a good quality mattress. It may be too soft for some to sleep on, especially if you are heavier, as I stated above. I don’t have many complaints about the mattress, other than the fact that it was a little difficult to roll over. It has a great breathability factor, it’s not overly heavy, the cover is soft and washable, and it has very little motion transfer. I am definitely impressed with this mattress.

I highly recommend this to those who are looking for an affordable mattress that’s more on the soft side than the firm side. It worked well for me as a stomach sleeper, and that’s really impressive since not many mattresses have the ability to make me comfortable on my stomach. So, the eLuxurySupply mattress definitely gets high marks in my book for its relatively low price.
