High Durability Expectations
A mattress is a sizable investment, and you undoubtedly want yours to last. The key to helping you estimate your durability expectation is to take a look at its density. Mattress companies with sub-par densities will often try to conceal this information, but Novosbed is proud to let consumers know what their various layers consist of for good reason. In memory foam, you want a density of between 4 and 5 pounds per cubic foot. So many products, however, feature densities of 3 pcf or less.
With Novosbed, you can expect the densities to be between the 4 to 5 pcf threshold in both the top and middle layer of memory foam. Furthermore, the base layer of premium support foam is 1.8 pcf, and this is on the higher end of the durability spectrum when it comes to this particular material. Overall, I have high expectations that this product will stand the test of time.
My Initial Thoughts
Since I have had a couple of nights to sleep on my Novosbed, I’d like to take a moment to share my first impressions with you.
— Firmness
Novosbed offers a few options when it comes to firmness, and these include soft, medium, and firm. I have the medium product, and this is accommodating for the majority of sleepers. This could be a good fit for you if you have a body mass index is between 19 and 25. However, if you’re overweight, a firm product may be a better option. On the other hand, if you are underweight, a plush product may provide the right comfort for your needs.
— Bounce and Responsiveness
When we think memory foam, we don’t typically associate it with a high degree of bounce. However, I have found the base of this product to help offer a higher degree of bounce than one may expect with two layers of memory foam. I found it really easy to move around, yet I was still able to take advantage of the contouring properties we look for in memory foam.
As a combined unit, the Brentwood mattress bounces back quickly. The only exception is the memory foam top layer. Because the material is visco elastic, it takes a couple of seconds for it to return to its original form. If you sleep with someone else, you’ll appreciate the fact that the material combination limits motion transfer. If you do have trouble getting in and out of bed, memory foam may not be your best option. However, I really enjoyed the overall responsiveness of this product.
