Unboxing/First Impression

We’re Not All “Average”

For the average shopper, a medium feel is typically pretty accommodating. However, not all of us are average. If you have a BMI under 20, it can become pretty difficult to engage with your mattress layers enough to experience significant contour.

If you’re shopping for someone who doesn’t weigh a whole lot or suffers from painful pressure points commonly associated with side sleeping, something on the plusher end of the spectrum can be a good choice.

The Hope Latex by My Green Mattress is made using Natural Dunlop Latex in all three layers, and this is some of the most durable material on the market. I think the plushness you’ll enjoy could be just what you’re looking for.

Unique Bounce Only Found in Latex

Latex offers a unique balance of contour and support that doesn’t lack in bounce and breathes well naturally. I prefer a plush sleep surface, and I’m liking the hug I’m experiencing through the top layer. The natural wool quilted cover is really soft, and off-gassing really isn’t bad considering the product was compressed in a small box.

Plush mattresses sometimes go a little too far when it comes to sinkage. Oftentimes, sleepers can feel like they’re being enveloped in their mattress, and this can make it difficult to move around and get in and out of bed. Latex is unique in that it offers a one-of-a-kind bounce and contour all in one.

Quick Note on Unboxing

As with any latex product, the Hope Latex mattress is a little difficult to maneuver. This is because, while it doesn’t lack support, it does lack rigidity. This means it’s basically dead weight if you try to lift it, so you might want to have someone around to help you unbox. Furthermore, you’re likely going to need a hand if the time ever comes to move it.

Over the course of the next couple of weeks, I’m going to take a look at all the important aspects you need to know when it comes to finding the right mattress. Just some of the things we’ll look at in our complete Hope Latex mattress review include:

  • Edge support
  • Motion transfer
  • Breathability
  • Durability
  • And a whole lot more!
