Bear Mattress

Overall Brand Rating
5/5

Overview

Bear is a company that debuted back in 2015. Its newer bed, called the Bear Hybrid, was launched in 2018. Bear stands out from other mattress manufacturers because it uses Celliant technology: a synthetic polymer bicomponent fiber that claims to bring health benefits by reducing pain and aches, and helping the body recover faster.

Products & Materials

Bear currently offers two mattresses:

  • The classic Bear is an all-foam mattress that’s designed to provide great pressure point relief at an affordable price. It’s encased in a Celliant cover, which promises to bring forth all the benefits of this rather controversial fabric. The first layer is made with graphite-gel memory foam, for eliminating body heat. The transitional layer is made from responsive foam, while the bottom later features high-density support foam.
  • The Bear Hybrid is a newer and more expensive version of the Bear Mattress. While it does feature the same Celliant technology in the cover, it also integrated cooling gel foam on the top side, resulting in a plusher first-hand experience. Underneath the cover lies a layer of comfort foam, followed by responsive transition foam. The core of the mattress is given by the individually wrapped coils, followed by a high-density foam base.

Prices

The Bear Mattress starts off with a price of $540 for a Twin-sized bed, and rises all the way up to $940 for a Cal King one. It is one of the most affordable foam mattresses on the market, considering the quality of the materials used in its construction.

As mentioned before, the Hybrid version of the Bear mattress is more expensive, which is to be expected considering that hybrid mattress are typically pricier compared to all-foam beds. That being said, the starting price for a Bear Hybrid is $1.090, and it goes all the way up to $1.690.

Warranty & Returns

Each of the two Bear mattresses comes with a 10-year limited warranty, but also with 100 nights of free sleep trial. This means that you have no less than 100 nights to take the mattress for a “Test drive” and see if your body adjusts well to sleeping on it. If, for some reason, you find the mattress to be unsatisfying, you can call the company and arrange a mattress pick-up, as well as ask for a refund.

Should this occur, you are not responsible for paying any extra fees. However, Bear requires of all its customers to try the mattress for at least 30 nights before returning it.
