Awara

Overall Brand Rating
4/5

Overview

Awara is a bedding company that’s focused on delivering natural comfort at competitive prices. The company is fairly new, since it was only launched in 2018. They don’t operate any brick-and-mortar stores, so their products are mainly available online.

Products & Materials

Awara does sell a platform bed, an adjustable bed frame, and a frame and headboard, but they are mainly known for their mattress. It is a medium-firm 13-inch bed with a rating of around 6 on a scale of 1 to 10. It’s a hybrid mattress that stands out because of its construction based on natural and organic materials:

  • It comes with a quilted cover that’s made from organic New Zealand wool fibers.
  • It has a comfort and transitioning layer that’s made from a generous 4 inches of Dunlop latex.
  • The core lies in a 9-inch layer of innerspring coils that are individually wrapped.

It’s a mattress that stands out in terms of durability, edge support, and temperature neutrality, and its construction makes it optimal for medium to heavyweight sleepers.

Prices

In spite of the quality of the materials used and the sturdy construction of this mattress, it isn’t all that pricey, at least not compared to other hybrid mattresses that are advertised as being premium. Prices for the Awara mattress start off at $899 for the Twin size, and go all the way up to $1,399 for the Cal King size.

If you want to purchase their platform bed, you will have to pay $200 for the smallest size (Twin) and $275 for the largest one (Cal King). The adjustable frame is a bit pricier, with $649 for the Twin XL size and $1,298 for the Split King.

Warranty & Returns

Very few companies actually offer a “forever” warranty, and Awara is one of those few. They are pretty clear about what this means without having to read the fine print: if the mattress is ever rendered useless under normal sleeping conditions while under your ownership, it will be replaced for free.

The sleep trial for this mattress extends up to 365 days. That basically means that you have a full year to decide if you and the Awara are a match, but if you feel you can do better, you can return it for a refund. You will then have to get in touch with their Sleep Concierge in order to determine the best way to remove the mattress.

Shipping Information

As a general rule, it takes about 24 hours for Awara to ship your new mattress. The delivery date, however, takes somewhere between 2 and 5 days, and most deliveries are made through FedEx Ground services. You can also opt for White Glove Delivery if you’re willing to pay the fee (note that this might extend the delivery with 2 or 3 extra days).

The mattress will be shipped free of charge to any of the 50 American states, but it doesn’t ship internationally for the time being.
