They don’t even call it a guarantee or warranty because it would fit right into what every other company is calling it these days. And really, how often do we hear the words “guarantee or warranty” and think to ourselves “yeah, right!”.
Bear Butt wants to be different, so they offer their promise and even define it as… and I quote, “ that means that at any time for any reason – seriously.. any time and any reason you aren’t stoked with your Bear Butt Gear or a ninja comes by and chops it to pieces. We will give you a FULL REFUND or a REPLACEMENT.” They don’t even ask for the original product back for the return, how is that for customer respect?
Bear Butt also promises that their products will always be affordable and hold up to the quality their customers expect. While this specific hammock is less expensive than the other styles we’ve reviewed, it is comparable to other hammocks in its weight class (read: the outdoor camping style).
The company advertises their fabric to be the strongest, toughest, and the softest around. They count the stitches of their 75D Nylon Taffeta fabric like the thread count on a set of high-quality bed sheets. They’ve rated the weight threshold of this hammock the highest we’ve seen in all styles of hammock we’ve reviewed – legally, 500 pounds but they claim they’ve tested it up to 900 pounds! How do they do it? I’m not quite sure. But I’m not complaining!
This hammock weighs in at less than two pounds with all its included gear, carabiners and straps, which makes it easy for those long hikes to the perfect campsite. The hammock bed is 10 feet by 6 feet making it perfect for two extra tall people to snuggle next to the fire and drift off to sleep under the stars.

If you’ve ever used an outdoor hammock before, most of these styles are pretty much the same simple process:

- Enjoy. This one is no different, plus it comes with all necessary equipment to use with trees. It can be hung from trees, poles, or mounts from a wall or ceiling if being used indoors.
The hammock is said to be a bit heavier than other similar styles from other brands because this one is extra wide and extra long and it comes with the gear included. It doesn’t surprise us that it may be heavier and larger to carry around. However, at less than two pounds total, it is nothing to gawk at.
Like other similar styles, the stuff sack is not only included but it is attached to the center of the hammock preventing you from losing it and making stow away super easy and efficient. One would literally roll up the hammock bed and stuff it all in the sack. The cinch at the top of the stack prevents everything from spilling out, and using a carabiner to attach the hammock sack to a backpack makes carrying it even easier.

We can’t mention this enough, they’re legally allowed to say that this hammock can hold up to a whopping 500 pounds, heavier than all other hammocks we’ve reviewed so far! But they went even farther above and beyond because that’s what they do at Bear Butt, It tested to hold up to 900 crazy pounds just to make sure your safety was a priority. Storage
The attached stuff sack holds the entire hammock bed inside of it effortlessly. This is perfect for towing it around or keeping it stored away waiting for your next adventure. Just make sure it’s clean and dry before stuffing it away. Bear Butt recommends using warm water and soap with a cloth to clean it before rinsing it off and letting it air dry.
Consumer Feedback
What most everyone has to say about this is- it’s perfect. There are very few complaints about it – besides, any defect can be fixed with the “easy peasy lemon squeezy money back or exchange promise” if given the opportunity.
However, one flaw that is talked about is its faulty material. It may be a tear that was overlooked, a seam that wasn’t triple stitched, or a strap that came apart. The company responds to each of its review/complaints with their contact info and a promise to make it right. Who doesn’t love personalized customer service?
