Intex Pillow Rest Airbed with Built-in Electric Pump

Our Rating: 4.1 Stars (4.1 / 5)

Are unexpected guests likely to drop in at any time for an overnight stay? Are the grandkids coming for a long sleepover? Is a camping trip right around the corner? For all of these times and more, the Intex Pillow Rest Twin Airbed with Built-in Electric Pump can be the perfect answer to finding enough places for everyone to sleep comfortably.

Comfort and Convenience

The Intex Pillow Rest Twin Airbed with Built-in Electric Pump is designed for the comfort of every sleeper, and the features of this bed prove that anyone can get a good night of rest on an air mattress. The internal pump design helps to inflate the bed to just the right level of firmness and makes it easy to maintain the air pressure throughout use without constantly re-attaching the pump to inflate. Like other air beds, re-inflation between uses could be necessary, but the Intex Pillow Rest Twin Airbed with Built-in Electric Pump holds air throughout the night better than most. The flocked top adds to the comfort, and the built in pillows are a definite advantage for staying cozy throughout the night. Plus, the flocked top keeps the bedding in place for even the most restless sleeper. Adding to the convenience is the issue of storage.

The Intex Pillow Rest Twin Airbed with Built-in Electric Pump also comes with a convenient bag for storage, making it the ideal mattress to take along on trips and store in spare rooms for when guests arrive. Folded up in the storage bag, the mattress takes up about as much space as a sleeping bag, so finding room for it in the car, in the closet, under the bed, or with the camping gear is a breeze.

Durability

The Intex Pillow Rest Twin Airbed with Built-in Electric Pump is built to last with a waterproof top and vinyl beams along the top, bottom, and sides. The air mattress does have the normal wear and tear issues of other Intex air beds, but overall it will handle many uses with no problems. The more the mattress is used and inflated or deflated, the more the vinyl is likely to exhibit signs of wear.

Other Features

A mid-rise height adds to the benefits of the bed. With 17 ½ inches to get in and out of bed, kids and adults can easily start their morning. Plus, the waterproof feature means less worry for when little visitors come to visit, protecting the bed from spills and accidents through the night. The 90 day warranty is another bonus feature of the mattress, although the companies customer service is lacking.

Size

Another added benefit to the Intex Pillow Rest Twin Airbed with Built-in Electric Pump is that it is a true twin mattress when inflated, so standard fitted sheets will fit easily without bunching or slipping and guests have more room than with other air mattresses in this size category. On top of the room from side to side, even the tallest sleeper has room to stretch out during the night. The length of the mattress is 80”, longer than most twin air bed mattresses.

Pros and Cons

Looking for an air mattress can be a chore, especially sifting through and weighing all of the pros and cons. The advantages of the Intex Pillow Rest Twin Airbed with Built-in Electric Pump far outweigh the disadvantages, making this the right choice when looking for an air mattress of this size.

I purchased two queen size Intex air beds over the past Two years and after several months the seams blew in each bed. When i took the problem back to the store all they could say was…I have had one for five years and mine did not have a problem. No one jumps on it no one abuses it..All the happened the first time was a young person about one hunderpounds sat on the bed with her feet hanging over and blew the first seam. we still used it but eventually the rest blew. I went an purchased a second one thinking i had received a “dud” he firs time this time being extra careful to the point of being annoying to anyone who sleep on it. again the first seam blew My question to your department is what causes this…I only use them at home when we have sleep overs with the kids I was wondering if you sold an air bed that is queen size that does not have seams tha has a flat top and if so where could I purchase one and for how much. I love the product but don’t want to go through this expense again. Thank you. claire seman

Hey Claire… we don’t actually sell any products, we just review them and sorry to hear about your experience. I always recommend the SoundAsleep Dream Series to people unhappy with their current, less durable air mattress. Yes you have to pay more but it is well worth it.

My wife and I purchased the Intex Pillow Rest raised air mattress through Evine.com in March of 2015. We use it when my Mother is in town and when our Granddaughter sleeps over. Total usage, probably less than 20 nights use. Just today after my Mother slept one night, a section of the mattress raised up above the other section running length wise along a seam. So the mattress is basically unusable at this point. I found the receipt and called Intex today 8/23 at noon mountain time. The gal that answered the phone could have cared less that it was ruined after only a few uses and said the warranty was over. That was it, didn’t care about what happened at all. Very disappointed with the quality and especially the customer service. I will certainly avoid any Intex products in the future and urge any readers to look elsewhere to a company that actually cares about their customers and the quality of their product. S. My mom purchased me my Intex queen mattress for Christmas, and fingers crossed so far I have had no problems with it, I just moved from out of state so I had no bed at all. I love this bed its comfortable and I sleep great! I can only hope I have no problems with it.
